Jose Mourinho's return to Real Madrid is nearly done, Fabrizio Romano reports. Los Blancos are really close to having a new coach.

With little time left before Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa leaves his post with the white team in the summer, the executives have already secured their favorite candidate to replace him.

For days, rumors about the possible new coach of the club had not stopped, and although the list of names was varied, one always stood out as the favorite.

Jose Mourinho stood as the fan favorite, and apparently, he is also the favorite of the executive board.

A couple of days ago, the media broke the news that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez would speak personally with Mourinho to try to convince him to return to Los Blancos after so many years.

Although the Portuguese coach had previously said that his focus was on his current team, Benfica, sources close to him indicated that he really never closed the door on new opportunities.

And apparently this is true: a couple of days ago, Florentino had a conversation with the former Real Madrid coach. A conversation in which Mourinho made clear three conditions, if they were accepted, for him to return to the club.

Jose Mourinho asked for a two-year contract, to speak only at mandatory and necessary first-team news conferences, and, finally, to bring his own staff.

According to what was learned, Real Madrid's director had only responded to these conditions with a "will see," but now journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed on his YouTube channel that they already have a pre-agreement.

Romano says that in recent days everything has intensified, that there is already consensus on almost all the necessary points for Mourinho to sign, and that the only thing missing is the definitive approval from Florentino Perez.

"The update that I can give you, and it is important, is that according to my information, the Jose Mourinho operation has begun. Contacts between Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid, and Jorge Mendes are underway. The agreement between Mourinho and Real Madrid is closed," he assured.

According to the journalist, although Mourinho wants to discuss strategy, the plan, and the budget, he is already ready to return to Real Madrid.

The only thing missing is for Florentino Perez to decide whether he wants to move forward, because on Benfica's part, they also feel open to whatever happens, so they will probably have to consider finding another coach.
