The teenager has taken what is clearly less subtle than just a dig at the Real Madrid superstar after El Clasico at the Nou Camp on Sunday evening
Last night, Real Madrid had the most humiliating end to the most humiliating season, as they saw arch rivals Barcelona pick up their second consecutive La Liga title with a 2-0 win in El Clasico.
This means that, since the start of 24/25, Barcelona have won six Clasico's, with just one singular win for Real Madrid, which came at the end of October 2025, putting Los Blancos five points clear at the top of the table.
After that game, the Real Madrid players celebrated very passionately and enthusiastically, in the eyes of some, they celebrated too much, and went too early.
It was not just on the pitch where the celebrations continued that game, but also on social media. Later on that day, Jude Bellingham captioned his Instragram post with: "Talk is cheap. Hala Madrid always!!!"
Clearly, the "talk is cheap" comment was a reference to Barcelona players and the perceived noise from Barcelona corners in general. Well, it appears those comments have come back to bite him.
Not only the fact that Real Madrid have gone trophyless, and lost two trophies to Barcelona in the process, but also on social media earlier on today.
Indeed, as just a couple of hours ago, Lamine Yamal captioned his Instagram story with "talk is cheap" and several crying emojis, in what is clearly not just a dig at Bellingham, but an unapologetic swipe at the England international.
It's quite ironic, as just days ago, both players starred together in an Adidas advert, where the two were sat together in the back of a taxi. Football moves on very quickly.
Now, you may instinctively think that this story from Yamal is childish. But, ultimately, it was Bellingham who first made the comment, and did so completely unprovoked. In the end, Barcelona and Yamal - albeit he was injured last night - both did their talking on the pitch.
And when you walk the walk, you're more than welcome to talk the talk. So, fair play to Yamal. Plus, we rightly or wrongly criticise modern footballers for not having much personality, for being robotic. Well, love him or hate him, the Barcelona forward certainly has a personality.
Now, just imagine Spain end up facing England at this summer's World Cup. There will be so much narrative heading into that game. Would be very interesting to see, particularly if Trent Alexander-Arnold is also involved, albeit that does feel unlikely as of now.
