Manchester City's Rodri responds to rumors linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

The summer transfer market is about to arrive, and Real Madrid is slowly but surely approaching new additions to reinforce the roster.

After a disappointing season, the fans were left wondering whether the board should make new acquisitions for the club.

The answer, however, seems to be that they will, because although the white club cannot yet finalize any signings or announce departures or arrivals due to the new elections for the club's presidency, we have learned about changes that will be announced soon.

First, the club will have a new coach, the Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho. After coaching Real Madrid for three seasons, their paths are coming together again, as he is supposedly set to take over from Alvaro Arbeloa.

The club has also shown interest in big figures such as Marcus Rashford, PSG midfielder Joao Neves, and Manchester City defender Josko Gvardiol, among others, although all are speculation for the moment.

Now, the electoral campaign rival of President Florentino Perez, Enrique Riquelme, has put his finger on the name of a player who has already been heard a lot at Real Madrid, Manchester City midfielder Rodri Hernandez.

The 29-year-old Spaniard has been rumored among Madridistas for some time, and now Riquelme has assured that if he wins the presidency of Real Madrid, he will bring Rodri to the team.

Faced with pressure and speaking to the media on Media Day, Rodri clarified some issues, including his future.

When questioned about the whole matter with Los Blancos, the player assured that it is normal for the media to talk and that he understands a scandal is being created, but that, for the moment, he is focused on being a leader on the Spanish national team.

"I am focused on being a leader on the national team. That is my path. I understand the noise, but I am not going to dedicate my time to that. It will be seen after the World Cup."

Rodri.

In the same conference, Rodri assured that he is preparing hard for the World Cup, and although he admits he does not have the same rhythm as in 2024, he now feels fresher and more rested to give it his all.

Rodri has a contract with Manchester City until 2027, and so far this 2025/2026 season, he has played 37 matches, contributing 2 goals and 1 assist.

Although his performance has been slightly affected since the injuries he suffered in September 2024, when he was considered at his best, that did not prevent the young player from slowly regaining his place on his team.

For the moment, we will have to wait for the Spaniard to finish playing with the Spanish national team and, if Riquelme does become president, to begin planning a possible arrival at Real Madrid.
