Real Madrid have now made their feelings known regarding the recent rumors which were being spread in the media.
Just days after denied having any contacts with Michael Olise regarding a transfer this summer, Real Madrid has now taken the same stance regarding the Enzo Fernandez transfer rumors.
The links between Los Blancos and Fernandez were given a recent push by the midfielder's agent Javier Pastore, as the former PSG man claimed that Enzo is now looking for an exit this summer.
Going by Pastore's words, the relationship between Fernandez and Chelsea never really got any better and for obvious reasons, Los Blancos has been linked with a move for the player ever since Fernandez claimed Madrid as the city where he would like to be in the future.
A lot of reports even claimed that the Whites have already agreed on personal terms with the 25-year-old and reportedly, the Blues understanding the situation put a £120 million prize tag on their midfielder.
But an official announcement from the Merengues have now seemingly put a full stop to all those rumors.
The official statement from the club read, "In light of the information and statements that have emerged in recent days regarding an alleged interest from Real Madrid C. F. in the player Enzo Fernández, the club wishes to state that it has not made any efforts, either directly or indirectly, aimed at signing the aforementioned player and, furthermore, has no intention of pursuing such an operation,
"Real Madrid wishes to express its utmost respect for Enzo Fernández, a great footballer whose career and quality are widely recognized, as well as for Chelsea FC, a club with which it maintains an excellent institutional relationship,
"Precisely out of respect for an institution like Chelsea FC and the principles of institutional loyalty that have always guided Real Madrid's actions, the club considers it necessary to categorically deny these speculations, which are unfounded and do not reflect reality,
"Real Madrid regrets that, despite the clarity of the facts and the absence of any action by the club, information continues to be disseminated that does not correspond to reality and only serves to create confusion among fans and unnecessarily harm the entities and individuals involved."
The "has no intention of pursuing such an operation" sentence certainly puts a lot of question marks inside the minds of the fans, whether this is the end of the line for any further development in the transfer saga or is it just a sign of respect for the Blues and they will go at it once the World Cup campaign is over for Argentina and Fernandez.
Although the above mentioned prophecy was not claimed in the statement which Los Blancos released denying the Olise rumors and as a result, it makes their recent statement even more controversial.
But above all, this recent statement should be read as a sign of respect and transparency between the two clubs, for now at least.
Even if it isn't Fernandez, Los Merengues will undoubtedly look to bring in a quality midfielder during the next couple of months while looking at their probable departures list.
