Real Madrid have shown interest in the highly rated center back complying with Jose Mourinho's demands.
As it seems, Real Madrid are not yet done with their defensive additions even after bringing in Ibrahima Konate, Marc Cucurella and Denzel Dumfries this summer, of course the Dutchman's arrival is yet to be made official.
These recent additions were reportedly Los Blancos' new manager Jose Mourinho's initial demands before taking charge of the club for a second time in his career.
Now as they gear up for the pre-season to start, Mourinho and Madrid are seemingly looking to add at least one more center-back to their squad.
Recently the names of Nico Schlotterbeck and Alessandro Bastoni were floated as Los Blancos' probable summer targets, now a third name has seemingly come to the fore of the Whites.
As reported by ESPN, Real Madrid have enquired about Arsenal's Piero Hincapie in accordance to Mourinho's demands of a left footed center-back.
Hincapie joined the Gunner's on a season long loan move from German side Bayer Leverkusen last summer but there was an obligation to buy for the English side following the end of his loan.
The Premier League champions have already decided to put pen on paper and signed him for a £45 million transfer fee as previously agreed on the defender's contract.
Los Blancos' sudden move might make the Ecuadorian international's situation a bit complicated.
Undoubtedly, the 24-year-old has been an integral part of Mikel Arteta's plans during the previous campaign, as he played the whole 120 minutes in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
With the recent reports of the Merengues' enquiry regarding the versatile defender, the Gunners might look to cash in on their latest addition and as per the reports, Hincapie could cost Los Blancos somewhere around €60 million.
All three of Madrid's current center-back targets might be available in a similar price range, as the Merengues will now look to finalize the most suitable deal for them going into the new campaign.
Hincapie has been pivotal during Arsenal's league campaign, as the Gunners lifted the Premier League after a gap of 22 years and the Ecuadorian was even awarded the player of the month award twice at Arsenal.
He was also part of former Los Blancos manager Xabi Alonso's squad at Leverkusen when they lifted the domestic double during the 2023-24 campaign.
But before the Whites close in on any new deal, they will need to clean house at the back, and as per the recent reports, Los Blancos have already decided to cut short Fran Garcia and Raul Asencio's stay at the club in order to make room for further additions this summer.
