With a couple more games in the round of 16 at this summer's FIFA World Cup taking place last night, here is your latest update on Real Madrid stars at the tournament.

On Sunday night, and into the early hours of the morning CET, there were two World Cup games taking place, both with heavy Real Madrid influence, as Brazil took on Norway and England faced Mexico.

To begin, Vinicius was named in the Brazil XI, whilst Endrick was on the bench. Just over 10 minutes in, the Selecao were awarded a penalty after a foul inside the box. To the shock of many, however, Vinicius did not step up. It was instead Bruno Guimaraes who took the penalty, seeing his tame effort comfortably saved.

Just before the hour mark, Endrick was introduced to the action. Within a minute, he was played through on goal after a sublime pass from Vinicius, but his second touch was awful, and he ended up poking a shot wide of the post.

Twenty minutes later, they were punished as Norway took the lead. Ten minutes after that, they doubled their lead. Despite Brazil scoring a penalty with essentially the last kick of the game, they would lose the game 2-1 and were knocked out of the World Cup.

Can't help but wonder what would have happened if Vinicius took the penalty (even if he is an inconsistent taker), or Endrick scored that one-on-one opportunity. A tough one to take.

Later on in the day, delayed from 02:00 to 03:00, Jude Bellingham and England faced Mexico in the iconic Azteca stadium, the only ground in football to have hosted games at three different World Cups.

In the opening half an hour, The Three Lions did well to calm the game down, and not play up to the home crowd. They took the sting out of the game and settled it all down.

Then, after 36 minutes, they worked a promising attack down the right hand side. From there, a ball was hung towards the back post, and who else but Bellingham to arrive with a diving header to give England the lead.

Just 90 seconds or so later, having won the ball back in the Mexico half, they broke again and a Harry Kane ball across goal was forced in by Bellingham from point blank range, for his second goal in under two minutes. This makes him the first player to score a brace in a World Cup game at the Azteca since Diego Maradona.

Not long before the break, the hosts got a goal back, and England had to withstand some pressure. They nearly made it 2-2 right before the whistle, but a goal saving intervention from the 23-year old stopped that. Bellingham's side then seized back the initiative after the break, but a red card early on meant it would be backs to the wall.

Still, a few minutes after that, they were able to win a penalty and make it 3-1. Yet not long after that, Mexico got a penalty after that, and at 3-2, it was game on once again.

Despite a torturous end to the game, with over 10 minutes of stoppage time, of which Bellingham spent the entirety playing as the nominal number nine whilst being absolutely goosed, England were able to hold on for an absolutely historical win and book their place in the quarter-finals.

An absolutely incredible shift from the Real Madrid man, and all of his team mates.  No Vinicius and Endrick vs Bellingham this time - England will play Norway in the quarter-finals in Miami at 23:00 on Saturday.
