Real Madrid have dropped the official injury report on Dani Carvajal, who looks set to be out for a while.

It would be an understatement to say that Real Madrid have dealt with their fair share of injury problems in recent years. Some of their key players have constantly had to spend time out on the sidelines, which has affected their performance levels and contributed to their lack of success on the pitch.

Dani Carvajal is someone who has enjoyed a lot of success in a Real Madrid shirt. But now that he is in the twilight of his time at the Bernabeu, he might not be heading for the ending he would have hoped for.

Carvajal's current deal with Real Madrid runs until this summer. And it is still unclear whether he will continue on beyond this campaign or not.

Unfortunately, we might have already seen the last of Carvajal in a Real Madrid shirt following the latest update on his injury situation.

Carvajal has already been dealing with constant fitness issues for some time now. And according to the club's official website, after the tests carried out on the defender by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a fracture of the distal phalanx of the fifth toe on his right foot.

It is still not clear how long he will be out of action for. Some media outlets have suggested that he could be back in time for Real Madrid's final game of the campaign against Athletic Bilbao. Let's see if that turns out to be accurate or not.

If it turns out that we have seen the last of Carvajal in a Real Madrid jersey, then it has most certainly been one of the greatest careers in the history of the club.

Carvajal came through the Real Madrid youth ranks, but like so many before and after him, he was not able to make his mark on the first-team as a youngster.

Instead, he left for Bayer Leverkusen without making a senior appearance and did well enough there that Real Madrid brought him back after just one season in Germany.

Since then, he has enjoyed nothing but success. He has won six Champions League titles, four La Ligas and plenty of other trophies in the Royal White jersey.

Most importantly, he has been a symbol of resilience, coming back more than once, when it looked like his Real Madrid career could be over. He will go down as one of the greatest Madridistas in history.
