According to a number of high profile reports in the media, Real Madrid have managed to make some strong progress when it comes to Vinicius' new potential new deal.

One of the biggest sagas of this summer transfer window has been the situation regarding the future of Real Madrid superstar forward, Vinicius Jr. As we all know by now, the 26-year old's current deal in the Spanish capital expires next summer, and there has been no extension as of yet.

This has lead to a lot of anxiety and panic from within the fanbase of the club. There has been some acceptance that if a deal is not sorted out in the next few weeks, Vinicius would have to depart this window, as the club cannot lose a player like that, in their prime years, on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, some have said that Los Blancos should keep him regardless, as Jose Mourinho will want him at the club, and he could always sign a contract before the end of the season (though from January, he would be allowed to speak to other clubs). Plus, what is money to a club who makes 700 million Euros revenue a year?

Well, it looks like, based on updates from today, that particular conundrum could be no more. Indeed so, as it is being widely reported in the media that contract talks held today (Wednesday the 5th of August) were positive and productive, and that there is confidence on both sides that a renewal can be reached.

Journalists Rodra, Gustavo Hofman, Alex Kirkland and Rodrigo Faez of ESPN have reported that, despite insisting they wouldn't, Real Madrid decided to raise their initial offer of 22 million Euros per season, marrying up with what David Ornstein reported earlier.

They say that, from Vinicius' side, they've (him and his representatives) come away from the meeting with "very good feelings", albeit no final decision as of yet. Jose Angel, Juni, Fred and Tata Soares were all at the meeting.

Meanwhile, Brazilian outlet geblobo (via MadridZone) have reported that the club will do "whatever it takes" to renew Vinicius, having changed their minds (on sticking to their initial offer). They believe a replacement would cost more than giving into his demands. They are also now offering the player a "significant signing bonus" that takes the overall package very close to what he is demanding.

To finish off, Ben Jacobs has reported that the club are confident of an extension, whilst Ramon Alvarez has also said that the player's continuity (at the club) is on its way to being resolved, with the meeting being very positive in that regard.
