On day nine of this summer's FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico, there was plenty of action for Real Madrid stars. Let's take a look at how things went.
After a day of FIFA World Cup action without any Real Madrid players involved, Friday was back to another busy day on the calendar. Let's take a look at how things went for them individually and collectively.
To begin, Brahim Diaz and Morocco were in action as they took on Scotland in Foxborough. As usual, the attacker was named in the starting XI, whilst former La Fabrica graduate right-back Achraf Hakimi was also named in the side, as was rumoured Real Madrid transfer target Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Within 90 seconds of the game kicking off, Diaz had an assist. Just as he did in their opener against Brazil, he set up Ismael Saibari to find the back of the net, and it was the dream start.
After 76 minutes, the Real Madrid forward had the chance to register his third assist of the tournament by squaring the ball to a player through on goal, but unfortunately managed to mess things up. No harm done, however, as his assist was enough to secure all three points for The Atlas Lions.
Next up is clash with Haiti on the 25th at 00:00 CET.
Later on in the day, into the early hours of Saturday morning CET, Vincius Jr, Endrick and their Brazil side took on Haiti in Philadelphia. As usual, Vinicius was named in the starting XI, whilst Endrick was again named on the bench, despite widespread clamour in Brazil for him to be named in the XI.
24 minutes into the game, a Vinicius shot was saved and rebounded to Matheus Cunha, who opened the scoring. Just 12 minutes later, Real Madrid's number seven slipped Cunha through on goal, and he made it 2-0.
So, a big hand in the first goal, assisted the second, could the first half get any better for Vinicius? Oh yes it could. In the third minute of stoppage time, he was played through on goal, keeping his cool and opening his body up to slot past the keeper and make it 3-0 heading into the break.
With minutes on the clock, Endrick made his highly anticipated World Cup debut, as he replaced Cunha. With a few minutes remaining, he had the ball back in thet net, but it was sadly ruled offside. Moments earlier, Vinicius had been given some well deserved rest by Ancelotti.
Next up for Brazil is a clash with Scotland at the same time as the Morocco game, 00:00 on the 25th.
