Following the announcement of Vinicius Jr.'s suspension on Wednesday, just moments before the Champions League match against Roma, both his teammates and the coach are firmly backing the Brazilian, puzzled as to why it was revealed in such a rushed way.

Vinicius Jr. is living through one of his darkest moments since he arrived at Real Madrid. The season advances, and the Brazilian still cannot rediscover the best version that led him to be the most important player for the team prior to the arrival of Kylian Mbappe. His teammates understand this and have decided to rally around him; even his compatriot, Endrick, who was the MVP in this Wednesday's match against Roma, dedicated a few words to him after learning of the four-match suspension.

"We knew it had to be two matches, but in the end, in our hearts, we knew it was not going to be two... Because what they do to Vini is a crazy thing, and this is not going to change. We knew it was going to be like this, that they were going to go after Vini. He is a strong kid who always fights against everything, and when he returns, he is going to return very well," Endrick said.

Mourinho, before the Champions League match, said: "Why do they publish it two hours before such an important Champions League match?" Within the club, it was taken with much indignation for two reasons: first, that the suspension was so severe, and second, that they announced it so little time before the kickoff at the Stadio Olimpico, something that, for some, was done with the intention of unsettling the Brazilian.

Vinicius was substituted in the 59th minute by Endrick, curiously. Mourinho moved his pieces after Roma's third goal, which placed everything in a dark panorama for Madrid. It did not have as many dangerous arrivals, and unfortunately for Vini, it was because of his loss of the ball when trying to play out with a backheel pass, which a Roma player easily cut off and assisted Donyell Malen, who beat Thibaut Courtois without much trouble, and in this way the Italian team went ahead.

Vini left the field with a clear sign of annoyance on his face and in his gestures, but it was important to make the substitution and allow the entry of fresh players like Endrick himself and Carlos Espi, who would be the cause of the merengue comeback. Both, thanks to the magnificent ball touch Arda Guler has, were able to score a goal from a corner kick. Without a doubt, it was a great decision by the coach.

Now, the Portuguese must prepare for Sunday's match against Sevilla, which will be the last league match before facing Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Oct. 25. The victory this Sunday is practically an obligation to not fall behind the Blaugranas in the standings and so that, in case of coming out victorious from the Catalan capital, they are only three points away from those coached by Hansi Flick.
