Real Madrid's Yan Diomande Talks About His Strike Against RB Leipzig

Yan Diomande had another great performance with Real Madrid. Despite only having played 20 minutes after replacing Vinicius Jr., it is clear that the Ivorian has the necessary confidence to be able to play as he wishes. His entry onto the field has meant a boost for the team in attack, and we are not only talking about Wednesday's match, but it has also been a constant in both the Champions League and LaLiga.

After his great goal, Diomande gave a short interview in which he explained what went through his head at the moment he made that tremendous finish. "It is not easy, of course it is not easy... it seems easy to say it, but not to do it. But Brahim passed it to me and I said: Let's try it, one touch and boom."

The Ivorian has turned his situation around in a very short time, to the point of having left Vinicius Jr. in the background. After being timid during the first matches of the season and Jose Mourinho rationing his minutes to the extreme, playing him very little. It was not until the Sept. 15 match against Elche that he participated in a goal for the first time by giving an assist to Kylian Mbappe. Since then, he has been unleashed.

Diomande has already reached three goals, all at the Bernabeu. The rivals: Villarreal, Sevilla and Leipzig. They are not only his goals, but what he contributes in attack; his speed and confidence to look for the dribble past his rivals are very good. El Clasico will take place this Sunday and the young player is raising his hand to start, something that is very likely to happen due to Vinicius' suspension.

Barcelona and Real Madrid face this match with different realities. The blaugranas come from falling painfully 4-2 against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes, a highly demanding match that left several of their players injured and doubtful for Sunday. While the merengues come after defeating Leipzig 4-1 at home, with great feelings from the youngsters Arda Guler and Diomande himself.

A match that will spark, since the future of LaLiga lies in it. If Barcelona manages the victory, it will be nine points behind Madrid, which would already be a great distance between the two. But if Mourinho's team takes the victory at the Camp Nou, it would reduce the gap to only three points, which would put the fight for the lead red hot. Without a doubt, a match you should not miss.
