Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes' latest injury update set to excite the fans ahead of pre-season training.
As per the recent reports, Real Madrid are set to start their pre-season from the third week of July, as they look to settle into life under new manager Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese manager is all set to start his second stint at the club, as Los Blancos look to strengthen their side for the upcoming campaign.
The ongoing World Cup is certainly a big challenge for Mourinho, as a number of his players are busy representing their national sides and won't be available for a major portion of Los Blancos' pre-season preparations.
On the other hand players like Arda Guler, Fede Valverde, Antonio Rudiger and Denzel Dumfries are expected to report at Valdebebas a bit earlier than the others, while Portugal's exit form the round of 16 means Bernando Silva could also take part in the pre-season training a bit early.
Mourinho will also asses the three injured players from the previous campaign, Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao and Rodrygo Goes as they are still recovering from their respective injuries.
Rodrygo seemingly provided a satisfactory update on his recovery process during while speaking to Diario AS ( h/t Madrid Xtra) saying, "I’m doing very well. I’m happy with my progress; I feel better every day. It’s a process that requires a lot of patience. There are days when you don’t wake up feeling so good, and other days when you wake up feeling great, when you think you could go out and play. You have to be patient with this process. But I'm doing well, I'm happy. The feedback I've received has all been positive."
The Brazilian forward didn't provide any definitive return date, but the recent update has certainly answered the concerns of the Los Blancos fans.
Although as per the previous reports, Rodrygo won't be available for selection at least until the end of 2026 and it could pose some serious concerns for the player's future at Real Madrid under Mourinho.
Despite all the denials, Los Merengues might still consider to submit a record bid for Bayern Munich star Michael Olise during the final phases of the summer transfer window.
If the Whites are able to rope in the French winger by any means, it will be really tough for Rodrygo to navigate his way into Mourinho's starting lineup and could even see himself dropped to being Los Blancos' third or fourth choice winger.
As a result, despite the brilliant update on his recovery process, Rodrygo's Real Madrid career looks to be far from settled.
