Several high level managers in the club game have offered their thoughts on the UEFA Champions League semi final first leg at home to Bayern Munich
On Tuesday evening, PSG managed to defeat Bayern Munich 5-4 in their UEFA Champions League semi final first leg clash at the Parc Des Princes, in a game that had the whole footballing world watching in anticipation.
It was a game that, in truth, could have gone either way, but Luis Enrique's side managed to get themselves on the right side of some variance, and were able to just about get the job done in what was an absolutely brilliant game of football.
So much so, that several top level managers have weighed in on how good the game was (via iMiaSanMia). Firstly, Como manager Cesc Fabregas said: "I think I watched the best game of my life as a football fan. I enjoyed it, it showed where modern football is going. I learned a lot from this match. It was a pleasure for everyone."
Some high praise indeed. Meanwhile, Pierre Sage of RC Lens said: "We were completely on the edge of our seats, glued to our screens. I'm one of those people who prefers to see a 5-4 scoreline rather than a 1-0 one. When you see the level of these teams and the individual level of each player, you realise how high the bar is set.
Elsewhere, Marseille's Habib Beye gave his thoughts: "This football inspires everyone. Everyone who saw this spectacle... there are no words." Whilst Niko Kovacof Borussia Dortmund said: "It was a spectacle. So sensational to watch. I have to say I enjoyed it.
Let's not kid ourselves - the top tier at the moment is Bayern Munich and PSG. All other clubs in Europe are watching with a lot of interest to see what's needed to get there. Finally, Franck Haise of Rennes offered his tuppence: "I thought to myself; what's going on?
Even though you could expect that crazy things can happen with the two best teams in the world, with exceptional players everywhere, there's a difference between expecting something and actually having it happen.. I was sitting on my sofa and I fully enjoyed it."
Some incredible words. Particularly from Fabregas, who said it was the best game of his life as a football fan. He will have seen some extremely high level games during his time, so it says it all that he ranked this game as number one.
Let's hope the second leg is even half as entertaining. If it is, we are in for another treat.
