Khvicha Kvaratskhelia acknowledged the role Luis Enrique played in his development at PSG at a news conference ahead of Tuesday's PSG vs. Bayern Munich match.

At a news conference on the eve of the Champions League first leg against Bayern Munich, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia wanted to acknowledge the role Luis Enrique played in his development.

Arriving at Paris Saint-Germain during the 2025 transfer window, Kvaratskhelia, 25, has allowed the capital club to reach a new level.

His presence greatly contributed to the French club's Champions League victory, and PSG also helped the Georgian international become an even stronger player.

To the point that some believe he could be a Ballon d'Or candidate if his country qualified for the next World Cup, which is not the case.

For his part, Kvaratskhelia did not fail to praise the work done with Luis Enrique, the Parisian winger being convinced that the Spanish PSG coach was largely responsible for his development.

While he does not deny that he had already taken a step forward by joining Napoli in 2022, the player, who trained at Dinamo Tbilisi, admits that at Paris, Luis Enrique changed everything for him.

"Technically, I was just as good at Napoli. But I have improved a lot defensively with Luis Enrique; he really pushed me. With this coach, we have to defend like defenders. I have improved technically in defense. We have great training sessions where we work on the team. I am very proud to be part of this team," Kvaratskhelia said, who returned to the nickname that Napoli fans had given him, namely Kvaradona, obviously referring to Maradona.

"It is always a pleasure to be compared to one of the best players. Every family in Naples has pictures of him. He is one of the best in history. I am very proud, even if it is a little difficult to be compared to him, because you then have to show it on the field. But I am very happy."

Against Bayern Munich, and just as with Chelsea and Liverpool, Luis Enrique and PSG are counting on the Georgian player to torture Manuel Neuer. The management of Kvaratskhelia by the Munich defense will clearly be one of the keys to the match.
