Lucas Chevalier is set to start for PSG in the next match despite integration struggles. His World Cup spot is uncertain.

Number two goalkeeper in PSG's hierarchy, Lucas Chevalier, knows that his presence at the World Cup with France is hanging by a thread. In Paris, the former LOSC goalie is struggling to integrate.

After Gianluigi Donnarumma's departure to Manchester City, head coach Luis Enrique asked sporting advisor Luis Campos to negotiate with Lille for the signing of Chevalier, 24.

The Spanish coach appreciated the profile of the French international goalkeeper and was pleased to see that PSG had recruited the LOSC goalkeeper for €40 million.

Except that nothing went as planned for Chevalier, who seemed incredibly shaky during each of his outings with Paris. To the point that Matvey Safonov has logically become the number one.

On Monday, RMC reports that barring a surprise, Enrique will play Chevalier against Nantes or Angers, even if that does not call the hierarchy into question. The cited outlet confirms that the French goalkeeper's integration is not as good as it seems.

Unlike the vast majority of his Paris Saint-Germain teammates, Chevalier has chosen to reside in Neuilly, while most of them are settled near the training center in Poissy.

Likewise, whenever he can, the goalkeeper returns to the North where his family and relatives live. Not that he feels bad in Paris, but he is visibly still somewhat attached to his roots.

While this may seem anecdotal, Arthur Perrot, a journalist who covers PSG for RMC, also notes that, more awkwardly, Chevalier is not very talkative with his teammates.

"In the locker room even today, Lucas Chevalier often appears on the sidelines. A worrying scene. Several sources close to the club indicate that the goalkeeper has a personality that means he likes to have moments alone and also prefers to be with people older than him," Perrot said.

For a club like Paris Saint-Germain, it is obvious that this situation cannot drag on. Because, without being unpleasant to Safonov, the European champions currently have two number-two goalkeepers, and Enrique will not accept that for long.

RMC indicates that nothing has been decided yet, but that if necessary, Chevalier will be sold or loaned during the next transfer window. And as it happens, a Premier League club is already knocking on PSG's door. Unfortunately, it is Tottenham that is in a very perilous situation in the Premier League.
