Achraf Hakimi and Desire Doue react to PSG's 4-2 Champions League win over FC Barcelona.
Paris Saint-Germain is currently enjoying a big win over FC Barcelona (4-2) in a Champions League group-stage match, and two players from the Parisian club have come out to speak about the game.
This Tuesday, the Rouge et Bleu won another Champions League match against the great Spanish team, who, by the way, were on a winning streak this season, which the Parisians dethroned tonight.
The match featured goals from both sides, injuries, and strong performances. That is why both PSG right-back Achraf Hakimi and the Golden Boy, Desire Doue, have come out to speak about how they feel after the match.
Speaking to the CBS Sports Golazo camera, Hakimi acknowledged that the match was physically demanding, that the team's players were tired from running so much, and that, although he had multiple chances to score, he could not finish the plays.
"What can I say? We know this kind of game is really difficult; we played against one of the best teams in the world. But, like I say, our team is incredible; we want to show every time we are ambitious, and we showed that today again, one more time," Hakimi began.
The Moroccan also stated that the team's desire remains to prove they are champions and among the best teams in the world.
"As I said before, we are ambitious. We have to keep winning, and that is our goal. Also, the coach is pushing us every day not to lose this winning mentality. We want to try to do our best, and I hope we can keep winning every time," he concluded.
For his part, Doue preferred to keep a lower profile in his post-match statements, humbly assuring that only fans and the media decide whether they are the best team of the season.
Speaking to Canal Plus in words gathered by Canal Supporters, the 21-year-old agreed with his teammate that PSG is coming with ambition.
"The results are there, and we also want to thank our fans tonight. We work hard in every match; we have to keep it up. It is the beginning of the season. There will be many important matches, so we stay focused; we have ambition."
When asked whether he believes he stole the spotlight from his rival, Lamine Yamal, Desire answered no, saying he goes on the field with one goal: to give everything for the team.
"I don't think I stole the spotlight from anyone. I play soccer for my team. I give 100% in every match. He is a great player; of course, there are many at Barca. Good for them; they were very good tonight, but the most important thing is that we won tonight," he concluded.
Paris Saint-Germain can rest for now, but it will need to regain its strength for upcoming commitments. This Sunday, they face Lyon, then Le Havre on Oct. 30 in Ligue 1, and will finally play again in the Champions League against Villarreal CF on Nov. 3.
