Manchester City striker Erling Haaland praises PSG and two of their players ahead of their Champions League clash next Wednesday.
Paris Saint-Germain will face Manchester City next Wednesday, Oct. 14, in the Champions League, and that is why Manchester City forward Erling Haaland has spoken about the Parisian side.
Both PSG and Manchester City are already preparing for their next matchup, and fans are excited to see the two giants compete.
Recently, the Parisian club faced Le Mans FC (3-1), where Luis Enrique tested a new mixed starting eleven. Although there were doubts at the start about his choice, PSG secured the victory without major problems.
The only inconvenience with PSG is that the team stumbled at the start of the season, so they are now in sixth place in the Ligue 1 standings, which does not make them the 'strongest' rival.
Manchester City had a strong start to the season in the Premier League. The English team leads the standings and enters the next match with an unbeaten run of 8, so it is considered the favorite.
But for Erling Haaland, statistics matter less. Just three days before the clash between Europe's giants, the Norwegian showed his admiration for PSG in a Canal+ interview.
When asked about the Parisian team, the forward confessed that he knows a very big match is approaching, as it is a team that won the Champions League twice and that has also been winning its league for some time.
"They are good in the Champions League and in their league. They have been winning their league for so many years, and they are two-time European champions, which is unusual," Haaland said.
The team led by Luis Enrique has undoubtedly stood out and given people something to talk about since the Spaniard took charge, and despite being judged many times for his player choices, no one can deny that he has been right most of the time.
And speaking of the players, the 26-year-old also praised two of them: right-back Achraf Hakimi and left-back Nuno Mendes.
"They have fantastic players, and they play top-level soccer, with two magnificent fullbacks... Well, the whole team is special, but the fullbacks go up and down the field. With Nuno Mendes and Hakimi, it is fascinating to watch them play, and I would not even know how to explain it."
Haaland admitted that he knows a great match is approaching and, because he already knows PSG's style of play from facing them in January 2025, they will have to prepare very well for the next matchup.
PSG is also ready. This week, it was announced that Nuno Mendes would take a rest after his commitment during the international break, but according to information from L'Equipe, the Portuguese is back in training to face the great Haaland and Manchester City.
