Ousmane Dembele and Nuno Mendes return to PSG training ahead of the Manchester City Champions League clash on Oct. 14.

Last Thursday, Paris Saint-Germain's official account announced that forward Ousmane Dembele and left-back Nuno Mendes would rest, and they are already back.

Since Oct. 8, both players have taken a short rest after their respective commitments during the international break, as they needed rest. This news did not please fans; in fact, they flooded the announcement on X (Twitter) with negative comments.

For the fans, it is absurd that Ousmane Dembele has the right to so many mini-rests throughout the season. If he really has the level the media promotes, he should not be resting so much.

But PSG's coach, Luis Enrique, quickly came out in defense, arguing that fans should get used to this kind of rest because there will be more during the season.

For them, it will always be better to preserve each player's physical condition, so, if necessary, they will be granted rest.

"After this long international break, we are thinking about each player individually. We all decided that Nuno and Ousmane needed rest to focus on the upcoming Ligue 1 and Champions League matches," he said.

So much commotion has a motive. PSG started the season in a way that made everyone raise an eyebrow, and they are currently in sixth place in the Ligue 1 standings.

For many, it was a surprise to see how the two-time Champions League champion stumbled in the first matches of the season, and now, with the club on a four-match winning streak, for Luis Enrique, what matters is to stay focused on winning and accumulating points.

With important commitments approaching, such as the next match against Manchester City on Wednesday, Oct. 14, PSG is training hard, and according to L'Equipe, Nuno and Dembele will be present.

"The Ballon d'Or winner was there on Saturday, while the former Sporting Lisbon defender returned to training on Sunday," the outlet mentioned.

The only absence for the Parisian team is Senny Mayulu, who suffered a left thigh injury while playing for the France under-21 national team, so he will miss an entire month of competition.

The feeling about the next match is good, and Luis Enrique has stated at a news conference that, in his judgment, PSG is in good form and at a much higher level (especially in training) than last year, and now that we know they will count on both key stars, they are ready for what is coming.
