PSG prospect Mathis Jangeal joins FC Famalicao on a five-year deal. The midfielder leaves with a buy-back clause.

Paris Saint-Germain says goodbye to a young prospect before the start of the new season, one of the brightest that the Parisian club's youth academy has had: young central midfielder Mathis Jangeal.

Jangeal, 18, has stood out for his talent for several years, excelling among his teammates on the Paris Saint-Germain under-19 team, so much so that he even had a role under the command of the first-team coach, Luis Enrique.

In September of last year, the young player made his debut as a substitute for a few minutes, enough time for clubs to become interested in the Frenchman thanks to his innate leadership talent.

And although PSG is known for embracing young players, and even more so if they are from its own youth academy, rumors of his departure to another club have been strong since the beginning of June, especially given FC Porto's interest in him.

But on Saturday of this week, officially, the Portuguese team FC Famalicao confirmed the arrival of Jangeal to its squad, signed for five seasons.

On his social media, the young player assured that his love and respect for the club will not go away and that it is not a goodbye, but a see you later, a phrase that makes sense because, according to a journalist from Le Parisien, PSG made sure to include a buy-back clause before letting him go, so perhaps in the future we will see him again.

In Famalicão's statement, Jangeal says that in the past he watched matches of the Portuguese championship, and his desire to play in it grew stronger; attracted by the idea of representing a club like Famalicao, he did not hesitate to accept the offer.

Mathis also admits that Nuno Mendes, a former PSG teammate, advised him to take the opportunity, as the Portuguese league is ideal for young players like him. Although he knows it will be a big challenge, he is willing to accept it with responsibility.

I spoke with Nuno Mendes, and he told me that the Portuguese championship is an ideal league for young players who enjoy and find pleasure in ball control.

At the beginning of the month, there were rumors that the club wanted to sign him to a professional contract. His father also came out to deny the rumors about his son's departure, assuring that they are and always will be from the Parisian club, but making it clear that they were still in talks.

Now, Jangeal's story has taken a turn for the better. In such a well-structured squad as PSG, his inclusion perhaps would not have worked, and he would not have as much recognition as he can achieve now with his new team.
