Ahead of PSG's clash with Stade Brestois at the Parc Des Princes on Sunday evening, here is everything you need to know on our visitors on the night
On Sunday night, at 21:00 CET, PSG can all but secure their fifth consecutive Ligue 1 title if they beat 12th-placed Brest at the Parc Des Princes.
It won't be as easy as some would have imagined, with a number of Luis Enrique's key players set to miss the game with injury.
So, what can we expect from the visitors?
As previously mentioned, Eric Roy's side sits in 12th place in the current table, so they are having a fairly middling season. They have won 10 games, drawn eight, and lost 13. So just very average, which is not a bad thing at all. Far from it.
That said, they will be hoping this week's trip to the capital is much more fruitful than the last one, having lost 4-0 away to Paris FC last Sunday, which saw PSG's next-door neighbors overtake them in the table.
However, recent form would suggest that it will be nearly impossible. Their last four meetings against PSG have yielded 3-0, 7-0, 3-0, and 5-2 defeats, and they have not beaten the Parisians since all the way back in 1985. There are a few draws in there, but only one since 2011.
In terms of dangermen, right winger Romain Del Castillo is the team's top scorer, with eight goals. He is closely followed by target man Ludovic Ajorque, with seven. Considering PSG doesn't have much height in central defense, they will have to be cautious of crosses towards the 6'5 striker.
Aside from that, there is not much. Kamory Doumbia, Remy Labeau Lascary, and Eric Ebimbe have all scored five Ligue 1 goals, but those five players in total are the only ones to have found the back of the net more than two times this season.
That said, one of the players to not score more than two goals this campaign is Mama Balde, who scored a brace against PSG back in 22/23, when he was with Troyes, in a game that eventually yielded a 4-3 win for Christophe Galtier's side.
In theory, this should be a relatively straightforward win for PSG. However, with several key players missing, it might not be as easy as one might think. The likes of Khvicha Kvartskhelia and Ousmane Dembele have been criticized by some for having average domestic seasons. Well, this would be a good time to try to change that perception. Let's hope so anyway.
