PSG are closing in on a €15 million deal for 16-year-old Montpellier sensation Laciné Megnan-Pavé, moving to beat Arsenal and Manchester United to the prolific young Frenchman.

Paris Saint-Germain are targeting Montpellier teenage sensation Laciné Megnan-Pavé for a permanent transfer this summer.

According to a report by Foot Mercato, PSG have identified Montpellier forward Laciné Megnan-Pavé as a potential summer signing following recent contacts between the two clubs.

Les Parisiens are progressing in talks with the Ligue 2 side, who have set an asking price of €15 million for the 16-year-old. The French U16 international and captain has reportedly given the green light to PSG to go for his transfer, and he wants to play for the Paris club during the upcoming season.

Montpellier's number 9 began his football career aged six, joining his current team's academy. He featured for ES Paulhan during the 2016-16 season, and then moved to La Paillade in 2016.

PSG are closing in on the signing, as an agreement remains elusive with Montpellier, but a middle ground is expected to be found soon. Alongside the current European champions, Premier League outfits Arsenal and Manchester United have also registered an interest in acquiring the player's services, but no concrete offer has reached Montpellier's desk from either of the two English top-flight heavyweights.

According to his club, Megnan-Pavé is "also capable of playing as a target man or making runs in behind the defence while being comfortable in combination play." PSG are currently dealing with the potential transfers of Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye. If both of the players depart in the coming days, there will be significant space to accommodate new signings, especially Megnan-Pavé, who is much valued in the Montpellier circle as a rising superstar.

Last February, at the age of 15, he signed his first professional contract with the Stade de la Mosson's dwellers. He has also featured 10 times for the French U16 team, scoring five goals.

PSG should have smooth sailing negotiations for the French teenager; however, they will hope to secure an agreement soon to avoid giving any chances to Arsenal or Man United to capitalise on a stalemate with their own bids.

Elsewhere, the Luis Enrique-led side have increased their offer to €35 million for Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. Serie A outfit Parma are trying their best to churn the most out of PSG's financial power to open the sale of the 23-year-old. They rejected an initial bid of €28 million from Paris Saint-Germain to raise his value. Negotiations are far from over as of now, but an agreement on transfer fees is set to be reached soon.
