After another fantastic display in the middle of the park during Wednesday's statement victory over Manchester City, PSG midfielder Vitinha has been recognised with a place in the UEFA Team of the Week.

On Wednesday evening, PSG once again managed to dispatch a Premier League side, as they defeated Manchester City 4-2 at the Etihad Stadium.

The first half performance was absolutely sensational, one of the most relentless displays both in and out of possession that you will see all season, and perhaps a lot longer than that.

Truth be told, the second half was not as impressive, and Luis Enrique's side had to suffer a lot, with City creating quite a few presentable opportunities and having some joy in behind the PSG defence.

However, the first half display was enough to make sure that the game never felt like it was going to be anything other than a PSG win, with the lead always at least two goals from the moment it turned 2-0.

One of the key components to the opening 45 minutes was the performance of PSG midfielder Vitinha, whom was once again excellent in the middle of the park. As a result of his display, he was awarded the Man of the Match award by UEFA after the game.

That is not the only recognition he has received from UEFA, however. Indeed not, as the 26-year old has been named in the official Team of the Week for match day two of the league phase in this season's Champions League.

The full team is as follows; Pokatilov (Sabah); Sjovold (Bodo/Glimt), Chabot (VfB Stuttgart), Falchener (Viking), Arajuo (Sporting); Yamal (Barcelona), Vitinha, Manzambi (Aston Villa), Barcola (Liverpool), Tresoldi (Club Brugge), Kane (Bayern Munich).

A well deserved inclusion for the midfield maestro. Perhaps Desire Doue can feel a little aggrieved not to join his PSG team mate in this side, after his excellent display on Wednesday where he scored a brilliant goal, provided a perhaps even better assist for Ousmane Dembele, and put in an excellent cross for Achraf Hakimi, who hit the woodwork.

The place off the left hand side instead went to the former PSG winger Bradley Barcola. He did score a hat-trick, but the opponent was Austrian side LASK, which should be taken into consideration too. Still, it is nice to see him have such a game after a tough start to life at Liverpool following his transfer from the Parc Des Princes in the summer transfer window.

A shoutout to Willian Pacho, also, who was very good too. Simply a sublime central defender. Still, again, very deserved recognition for Vitinha - good to see.
