With Bradley Barcola’s departure looming, PSG are ready to meet a staggering valuation to secure Ajax’s Belgian starlet Mika Godts and finalise a blockbuster summer switch.

Paris Saint-Germain have a real chance of losing winger Bradley Barcola, whose one foot already looks out of the club. In the scenario that the Frenchman departs, the reigning European champions have reportedly identified his replacement in the form of 21-year-old Belgian winger Mika Godts, who currently plays in the Eredivisie for Ajax.

According to a report by L’Équipe, via media outlet TransferFeed, PSG are hopeful of finalising the deal that will bring Mika Godts to France this week. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that PSG will approach Ajax with a new offer for the transfer of the 21-year-old after their UEFA Super Cup tie against English side Aston Villa, the current UEFA Europa League champions, is completed. The transfer expert posted on his social media handle on X, “Paris Saint-Germain plan to return to direct talks over Mika Godts deal after the Super Cup.

“Ajax expect a new proposal to arrive soon, as Godts already said yes to PSG project.”

It is noteworthy that the French club had already sent an offer of €40 million plus €5 million in bonuses to the Dutch side. However, that bid was rejected by Ajax technical director Jordi Cruijff, who considered it unserious, and he refused to enter negotiations unless PSG sent an improved, realistic offer. Ajax reportedly values Mika Godts at a price hovering in the range of €60 million-€65 million.

Godts had already approved the offer sent to him by PSG; he has said that while negotiations over a move to France continue to take place, he is perfectly happy at Ajax and fully committed to the club whilst he is there.

Mika Godts joined Ajax in 2023 and was drafted to their reserve side, Jong Ajax, after graduating from the academy of Belgian side Racing Genk. He played one season each for Jong Genk and Jong Ajax, respectively, before being promoted to the first team of the latter permanently in the 2024-25 season, and became an undisputed starter in the following season. Since his debut for the first team of Ajax in 2023, the Belgian has played 78 official Eredivisie games for de Godenzonen, netting 21 times in the process.

In addition to his club career, Mika Godts had also made 2 official appearances for the senior squad of the Belgium National Football Team after being a part of their youth squads from the U15 level through to the U19 level.

It is almost certain that Mika Godts will leave Ajax for Paris Saint-Germain, and an official announcement is expected this week, possibly just after the UEFA Super Cup match. As the mediation by agent Jorge Mendes is now accelerating the negotiations, it is expected that an agreement will be reached between the clubs very soon.
