As PSG prepare for their second Ligue 1 game of the 26/27 season, here is the squad selected by manager Luis Enrique, with several key names not included.
This evening, PSG will play their second game of the Ligue 1 season, and fourth in total, when they face LOSC Lille away from home, for a 20:45 CEST kick off.
A win very much feels needed to lift the mood, having lost the Trophee des Champions to RC Lens, before drawing 2-2 away to Rennes on opening day. Although the team did well to come back from 2-0 down, it is never ideal to start the season without a win.
For the task at hand right up in the north, Luis Enrique has named the following traveling squad:
Matvey Safonov, Lucas Chevalier, Alessandro Longoni; Senny Mayulu, Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Ilya Zabarnyi, Willian Pacho, Lucas Hernandez, Lucas Digne; Lucas Beraldo, Vitinha, Warren Zaire-Emery, Fabian Ruiz, Dro Fernandez; Desire Doue, Ferran Torres, Mika Godts, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Bradley Barcola is not involved, as he finally closes in on his move to Premier League side Liverpool. Although a transfer is not imminent for Ibrahim Mbaye, he has also been left out of the squad by Enrique.
Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembele is rested as was previously planned ahead, whilst Quentin Ndjantou, Nuno Mendes and Joao Neves are all also absent. It's unclear what is wrong with Ndjantou, but Mendes is still suspended after his silly red card against Lens, and Neves is said to be ill, as per a report from RMC Sport journalist Arthur Perrot.
Quite a light squad you have to say, though still one with lots of serious quality in all areas of the pitch, and there will be an expectation that the team still have enough to get their first Ligue 1 victory of the new season, with PSG priced up as the heavy favourites for the game.
There is a lot of excitement regarding new signing Torres, after he saved the day against Rennes with two goals off the bench on his debut for the club. After that cameo, and the absence of Dembele in this one, he will almost certainly make his first start in PSG colours this evening.
Both of his goals were assisted by his long term Spain national team mate, Ruiz, who could also come into the side for this game, having played just 30 minutes last week. It would feel a little harsh if he doesn't start, especially considering the absence of Neves.
