For the final game before the last international break until late March of next year, here is what PSG can expect from newly promoted visitors Troyes in the French capital on Saturday night.

This weekend, PSG host Troyes in Ligue 1 as they sign off for the final international break of 2026, which will be back to the usual format of two weeks, after the extended break we saw back in September and October

Luis Enrique’s side are looking to make it 11 wins in a row heading into the break, and to remain top of the table, but what can we expect from the side trying to make sure that does not happen?

It has been a difficult start to the season for Troyes, who are back in the French top flight for the first time since 2023. They have picked up just eight points from their opening nine games, and currently sit in the relegation play off position in the table.

Going forward, the visitors have been incredibly blunt so far— with just seven goals, not even one per game. No Troyes player has found the back of the net more than once in Ligue 1. Meanwhile at the other end, they have conceded 16 times so far.

That being said, they did beat fellow promoted side Le Mans 2-0 last time out, and created enough chances to have scored four or five goals, so perhaps they can cause PSG some issues on the counter attack during the game.

Midfielder Mouhamed Diop is probably their star man. He can do a bit of everything. He scored in the aforementioned win over Le Mans, but also created two big chances, had 50 touches of the ball and won 8/11 contested duels. All of this in 79 minutes— just a very complete all round midfield display, and certainly someone to keep a close eye on.

Aside from Diop, there is not a lot of quality in the squad. The total market value is £36.7m. Some may remember their Australian goalkeeper Patrick Beach from the World Cup last summer, and his heroics against Turkey in the group stages. But that is about it really.

Ultimately, this should be a straightforward enough win for PSG, with Troyes priced up as heavy 20/1 outsiders to win the game. The last meeting between the two sides came back in May of 2023, with a 3-1 win for the Parisians thanks to goas from Kylian Mbappe, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz. Let’s hope for more of the same on Saturday night under the lights at the Parc Des Princes.
