Ahead of the Trophee des Champions clash away to Coupe de France winners RC Lens this evening, here is the squad that PSG have selected for the game.
Later on today, at 20:45 CET, PSG will face RC Lens in the Trophee des Champions, the annual game between the winners of Ligue 1 and the winners of the Coupe de France.
The game has not been without controversy, with the PSG ultras boycotting the game to protest the fact that the game is being played at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, home of Lens, and not at a neutral venue, such as the Stade de France.
Anyway, earlier on today, the official squad called up by manager Luis Enrique was confirmed, and is as follows:
Matvey Safonov, Alessandro Longini, Lucas Cheavlier; Achraf Hakimi, Lucas Beraldo, Marquinhos, Ilya Zabarnyi, Willian Pacho, Lucas Hernandez, Lucas Digne, Nuno Mendes; Senny Mayulu, Warren Zaire-Emery, Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, Quentin Ndjantou, Dro Fernandez; Khvicha Kvartskhelia, Desire Doue, Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembele, Ibrahim Mbaye, Maghnes Akliouche.
For those concerned, Enrique is just giving Joao Neves a rest to manage his workload, there is no injury, and he should be fine for the game against Rennes next weekend. Mbaye and Barcola are both in the squad, despite heavy links with a move away from the Parc Des Princes.
Despite both players being officially announced by the club, Ferran Torres and Mika Godts have not been registered in time, and therefore aren't involved today. They should also be good to go against Rennes.
That could go hand in hand as to why Barcola and Mbaye are involved. Perhaps the club want them in the squad for this game, knowing that Torres and Godts can't play a part. After this game, perhaps their potential transfers may begin to speed up a bit quicker, let's see.
It was a great start to the season in midweek, with the win in the UEFA Super Cup against Aston Villa. Let's hope it can also be a great start to the domestic season too. Truth be told, the team were a little bit fortunate to beat Villa, with the Premier League side creating a lot of presentable opportunities.
The likelihood is that it will have to a better collective performance today to win the game, especially in what is an away game, though Lens are probably not as good as Villa, even with a rotated side that they played in midweek.
Ah well, let's see. Excited for another game of watching the best team in European and world football. Here we go again.
