PSG snatches promising talent from Barcelona's grasp, according to Africa Football Academy president.
PSG remains a club to watch closely in the transfer market. Luis Enrique is also considering recruiting young players, and an African talent is very close to joining the club.
Paris Saint-Germain is more focused than ever on its end to the season. The capital club can still win two titles: Ligue 1 and the Champions League. Then, depending on the season's final results, a strategy will be implemented for the transfer window.
Enrique will not say no to integrating young talent, and one profile has particularly caught the attention. According to the latest tips from Africa Foot, Aboubacar Maiga could soon become a Paris Saint-Germain player.
Kassoum Coulibaly, honorary president of Africa Football Academy, indeed confirmed in recent hours: "Indeed, Aboubacar Maiga is currently on trial at PSG. They spotted him during the Next Given African Cup tournament in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. I was informed that Paris Saint-Germain had seen the player and was very interested in his profile.·
"I spoke with the academy officials, and I gave my approval. They sent the documents to the French consulate in Bamako to obtain the visa. Things moved very quickly. He is currently on trial, a test that could lead to a contract if all goes well."
Gifted with a technical profile and good field vision, Maiga, 17, has become a priority for PSG, which recently tested him against Bayer Leverkusen. The Parisian club even had to fend off Barcelona's interest in young talent. A nice revenge for the champions of Europe after being beaten to another talent, Ibrahim Diarra, who left to join the Catalans.
In the event of a signing, Maiga will first try to establish himself within the youth teams before perhaps being integrated into the professional group led by Luis Enrique.
