PSG keeper Lucas Chevalier was injured in training. The goalkeeper will be sidelined for several weeks, putting his World Cup dream in jeopardy.

Achraf Hakimi is not the only PSG player injured announced on Wednesday. Unused against Bayern Munich, Lucas Chevalier was injured in training. The goalkeeper will be sidelined for several weeks, putting his World Cup dream in jeopardy.

Paris Saint-Germain will not have enjoyed its full squad for long. Before the match against Bayern on Tuesday, Luis Enrique's assistant Rafel Pol admitted to being relieved to finally be able to field the best possible Parisian lineup.

His joy lasted only two hours. Achraf Hakimi injured his hamstring at the end of the first leg of the semifinal. The Moroccan will miss the return leg in Germany, and he will not be the only one. This evening, PSG announced Lucas Chevalier's absence. The French goalkeeper injured his right thigh during the morning training session.

The damage is severe for Chevalier as the Parisian club specified that he would remain in treatment for several weeks. This means he will miss PSG's final Ligue 1 matches. The former Lille player could have aimed to start against Lorient next Saturday. The match will take place between the two clashes against Bayern, thus giving Matvey Safonov a rest. This injury also threatens his World Cup dream with the French national team.

No. 2 for the French national team, behind Mike Maignan, the former Lille goalkeeper, is not certain to be fully recovered by May 13 for Didier Deschamps' list. Already threatened by his lack of playing time since January, Chevalier could now withdraw for medical reasons.

To the benefit of other French goalkeepers such as Robin Risser, Jean Butez, or even Hugo Lloris. The former French national team captain has officially put himself forward as a candidate for the 2026 World Cup if an injury occurs and the French staff calls him to the rescue.
