Mika Godts' agent confirms the Ajax winger has reached a basic agreement with PSG. Ajax demands €60M for the Belgian, who is eager to join the Paris club.

Announced as a serious target for PSG this Friday evening, Ajax Amsterdam forward Mika Godts saw his agent give an update in the press. He even announced a basic agreement between his player and the Paris club, as well as Godts' strong desire to join Paris.

Between PSG and Mika Godts, everything accelerated this Friday evening publicly when a photo of the player with Luis Campos in Porto was published on social media. The press then quickly confirmed that the 21-year-old Belgian winger was a very serious target for Paris after the failure of the Diomande deal.

Some media outlets even reported an agreement between PSG and Mika Godts, which was later confirmed.

In the columns of the Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, the player's agent, Niels De Jonck, did not mince words when providing an update on the situation.

“Mika received a salary offer and gave his basic agreement. PSG clearly made it known that it absolutely wanted to sign Mika. And Mika wants to go to Paris, which seems logical to me when you go from the Eredivisie to the two-time Champions League winner. His wife, his family, and he are very happy in Amsterdam, and Mika dreamed of winning trophies with Ajax. But if this opportunity comes to fruition, everything will change.”

This morning, after the first rumors were published, Jordi Cruyff, the sporting director of Ajax Amsterdam, where Godts is under contract until 2029, did not hesitate to say to the same De Telegraaf that “Ajax wants to keep Mika Godts for at least one more year.” In the same interview, it was also said that Godts was worth more in Ajax's eyes than Ismael Saibari, transferred for 50 million € to Bayern Munich from PSV a few weeks ago. An amount already set for a supposedly untransferable player, which shows how much he really is.

Faced with this stance from Ajax Amsterdam, Godts' agent commented on the situation without particular stress: “Everyone has their own interests, and this is normal. But I am confident that the two clubs will find an agreement on the transfer fee.”

According to the Dutch press, Ajax would like to collect €60 million for the player who was clearly its best last season.

It was disappointing that PSG missed the opportunity to sign Yan Diomande, but it's hard not to trust both Luis Campos and Luis Enrique, the architects of Paris's recent European success. Godts, indeed, seems like an opportunity as exciting as Diomande. Let's see.
