Ajax rejects PSG's €45M offer for Mika Godts and demands well above €60M. PSG also moves for Parma goalkeeper Suzuki.
After battling with AS Monaco to finalise the transfer of Maghnes Akliouche, 24, PSG sent its first official offer to Ajax Amsterdam last weekend for its Belgian winger Mika Godts, 21. An offer estimated at €40 million plus €5 million in bonuses, according to several sources.
This offer, which leaked as early as Sunday, was sent on Monday officially by email to the Dutch club, according to local outlet De Telegraaf, which confirms the amount of €45 million, bonuses included, and specifies that these bonuses were easy for Ajax to cash in, even practically impossible to miss.
But as had already leaked, Ajax values Mika Godts at at least €60 million and has logically rejected this first official PSG offer for its player. According to De Telegraaf, the Ajax directors are even demanding a sum well above €60 million, which promises several more rounds of negotiations between the parties before any possible agreement.
The gap between the parties is therefore still very large at this stage, to the point that, according to De Telegraaf, negotiations between the two clubs have not really started yet, with Ajax not even having made a counteroffer to Paris for the moment. The Dutch outlet also mentions an interesting aspect of the matter, namely PSG’s position regarding the valuation of Mika Godts. PSG knows that Ajax only paid around €1 million in 2023 to sign Godts from Genk and that the Dutch club will in any case make a huge capital gain when it sells him.
Another interesting element: PSG will pay €50 million, bonuses included, for Akliouche, a French international aged 24 with 10 caps and some Champions League experience. A price that could serve as an argument for PSG in its future talks with Jordi Cruyff, Ajax’s technical director.
Elsewhere, while PSG made an initial offer to Parma in recent hours, the transfer of goalkeeper Zion Suzuki appears to be progressing well from Italy's perspective. Both Parma and Suzuki himself view the move favourably.
By making an offer of €28 million plus €5 million in bonuses to Parma for their Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, PSG made a resounding return to the goalkeeper market, a sector they know well since they have been active in it every summer for the past four consecutive seasons
While his coach, Carlos Cuesta, stated that “the only certainty today is that he is one of our players,” Suzuki is clearly presented in Italy as on track to join PSG this summer.
