PSG have set a price for Bradley Barcola amid Barcelona's interest, per reports. The French winger's future could be decided after the World Cup.
PSG could lose Bradley Barcola this summer in the transfer window, but Luis Enrique is not really willing to do Barcelona any favors.
PSG wants to wait until the end of the 2026 World Cup in North America to accelerate in the transfer market. The two-time European champions are, nevertheless, already positioning some pieces to strengthen themselves. Especially since several important departures could occur.
We already know that Lee Kang-in and Goncalo Ramos want to leave in order to gain playing time. Ibrahim Mbaye and Bradley Barcola are still reflecting, and a departure cannot be ruled out. Barcelona has shown interest in the former Lyon player. The Catalans are considering an offer of around $55 million to convince PSG, a sum deemed insufficient by the Parisian management and Luis Enrique.
According to information from El Nacional, PSG is not really inclined to part with Barcola. The winger is highly appreciated by Luis Enrique. The Spanish coach will not keep him against his will, but has already warned his management that it would take at least $87 million to consider a departure for the European champion.
An amount that cools Barcelona, which does not have the necessary means to match it this summer. For Luis Enrique, such a sum would then allow reinvestment in the market to find Barcola's ideal replacement.
PSG is notably interested in profiles such as Yan Diomande or Morgan Rogers. The capital club will want to speak again with the Barcola camp after the World Cup to clarify his intentions. In any case, the former Lyon player is not totally closed to the idea of taking on a new challenge, even if PSG highly appreciates him and would prefer to continue the adventure with him.
For several weeks, Barcola's future at PSG has been the subject of speculation. The PSG and France national team striker is struggling with not being an undisputed starter, and his entourage has been speaking out about it. Enough to seriously annoy Luis Enrique.
"Barcola is being told he faces a busy summer, as he is reportedly unhappy with his playing time at PSG. It's really conditional, but it wouldn't be very surprising, given that his entourage had already leaked frustration about his status at PSG last summer. I can understand his frustration - it's not easy to start two Champions League finals on the bench, and that was his case. But he is not being treated unfairly by Luis Enrique, who trusted him in decisive matches against Monaco and Chelsea," notes journalist Romain Beddouk.
"For PSG, it is out of the question to keep a player against his will who does not fully embrace the project and who would not necessarily want to be here," Beddouk added.
