Warren Zaire-Emery's performances are locking down his spot at PSG, leaving Fabian Ruiz's future uncertain.
Deployed alongside Joao Neves and Vitinha due to Fabian Ruiz's lengthy absence, Warren Zaire-Emery continues to string together performances of the highest level. On Wednesday against Liverpool, the French international was impressive.
Zaire-Emery, 20, has rediscovered his best level with Paris Saint-Germain. One might even wonder whether the French international has ever been this good.
Taking advantage of Fabian Ruiz's lengthy injury absence, the midfielder has played match after match since the start of the season. Lined up alongside Vitinha and Joao Neves against Liverpool on Wednesday evening, Zaire-Emery delivered yet another impressive performance.
Omnipresent, the Frenchman outplayed Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, and Dominik Szoboszlai at the Parc des Princes.
A very high-level performance from Zaire-Emery that left Bixente Lizarazu stunned. So much so that, for the L'Equipe columnist, Fabian Ruiz has most likely lost his starting spot to Zaire-Emery for the remainder of Paris' season.
"Warren Zaire-Emery was truly radiant and has completely regained his confidence. I think he learned a lot from last season, which was more difficult for him. He asked himself the right questions. Now, it is certain that even when Fabian Ruiz returns from injury, it is going to be very difficult to leave him out of the team," the TF1 pundit wrote in the citet outlet.
"He was omnipresent in ball recovery and did not hesitate to go beyond his role to make an impact offensively. Previously, he appeared slightly below the technical level of the other Parisian midfielders, Vitinha, Joao Neves, and Ruiz. That is no longer the case; he is truly getting sharper and sharper," said Lizarazu.
Performances of the highest caliber that will undoubtedly secure the 20-year-old midfielder's place on Didier Deschamps' World Cup roster. Especially since the France coach appreciated the performance Zaire-Emery delivered with the national team against Colombia in the second friendly of March.
