The good old days at Manchester United have finally seemed to have arrived as the Reds extended their unbeaten run to six games now under new interim manager Michael Carrick after beating Everton at Goodison Park yesterday.
The Reds have now picked up more points in the league than any other side since the departure of Amorin, as Carrick is seemingly doing miracles with the same set of players who were showing a lack of confidence during their outings during the first half of the season.
Man United's attacking trio of Bryan Mbuemo, Benjamin Sesko, and Matheus Cunha now finally seems to be clicking as they combined brilliantly from a lightning-fast counterattack as Sesko scored the winner against Everton yesterday after coming on from the bench.
By the end of 2025, Sesko looked like another failed transfer for the Reds. Still, Amorin's departure has seemingly brought the Slovenian striker back to life, as under the Portuguese, he had scored only two goals in 17 games, but since his sacking, Sesko has added six more goals to his tally in just seven games.
The 22-year-old recently gave an insight into his situation at Old Trafford, saying (h/t INDEPENDENT), "We are talking of course, but [Carrick] believes in me, everyone believes in me, they are getting me ready to start as soon as possible. It's more about me showing up when it’s important, no matter how many minutes I’m getting, I'm focusing on delivering and trying to help the team secure the wins.
Despite his fantastic run of form, Carrick is yet to feature Sesko in his starting lineup, but as it seems the striker is being patient and also looks full of confidence.
He added, "I'm getting settled in the league from game to game. Again, I'm not even thinking about, 'I have to start, I have to start'. For me, it's just whenever the coach decides to put them there or not, I'm just going to be there. If I get the next five minutes, I'm going to use them, and for me, it's just about trying to enjoy and deliver for the team.
"The coaching staff in general, not just Carrick, but also the others he has beside him are unbelievable, They are working on individuals and you can see that on the pitch."
Any young player coming into a team like Manchester United for a hefty price tag would have a lot of things going on in his head, that's where the management and his teammates come in, helping the player to settle into the side which as it seems wasn't the way how Amorin and his staff dealt with Sesko as the Slovenian is now happy to even feature for "five minutes" under Carrick.
