Enzo Maresca was fired from Chelsea, and in less than a week, he was touted as an option to be the new manager of Manchester United. If this happens, the Italian would have two players from the Ecuador national team in his squad, according to BolaVip.
Nilson Angulo remains one of the priorities for the Red Devils for 2026; they see him as a prospect, especially as he continues to establish himself in Europe. His signing would be a decision made by the club's board, unless the coaching staff opposes it.
The second is Pervis Estupiñán. The full-back has not solidified his place at AC Milan, and talk of his return to the Premier League has been circulating for weeks. United would be looking for a full-back without a high cost, and the Ecuadorian is the one targeted.
This is not the first time Maresca has had an Ecuadorian in his ranks, as he already won the Club World Cup and the UEFA Conference League with Moisés Caicedo at Chelsea.
So far this season, Nilson Angulo has played a total of 24 matches across all competitions. The forward has scored 5 goals and provided only 8 assists. He has earned a starting spot and has already logged just over 1,900 minutes on the pitch.
This season, wearing the AC Milan jersey, Pervis Estupiñán has played 11 matches for the Italian giant. In these, he has not scored a single goal and has provided only 1 assist. On the pitch, he has logged just over 700 minutes, which are very low number for a full-back.
Manager Ruben Amorim had emphasized that Manchester United will not make new signings in January unless there is "common ground" between him and football director Jason Wilcox on which players will improve the team. The Red Devils continue to be linked with some names, including several midfielders. But now, with Amorim gone, the plan could change.
