Manchester United are already being linked with several midfielders, but this brand-new name might spark insecurity among one of their key players.

As it seems, Manchester United have already begun their project to renovate their midfield well before the summer transfer window, with a decision on their permanent manager yet to be made.

United were a bit hesitant during the winter transfer window after the departure of Ruben Amorin, as the club's management reportedly felt it would be impractical to sign any new players before they confirm their new manager and then bring in players in line with his ideals and requirements.

Now with only three months left in United's season, the management has shown urgency in its approach to a massive rebuild for the next campaign. This recent movement could also be a result of the team's form, as Michael Carrick has seemingly brought back confidence into the side, and the Reds are well on track to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.

A top four finish only means a return for Man United to the Champions League after a gap of two seasons which would ofcourse require United to build a side with quality squad depth and as it seems the club are already on it as they have set sights on the likes of Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton, Elliot Anderson and now according to reports, Morgan Gibbs-White, Anderson's teammate at Nottingham Forest has been added to the long list of United's midfield targets.

Gibbs-White was reportedly valued at £60 million last summer when his move to Tottenham Hotspur collapsed, and now the asking price would only rise given the performances of the 26-year-old this season.

The highly rated midfielder has scored a total of eight goals and provided five assists in all competitions for Forest this season, including his two goals and three assists in the Europa League, which shows his ability to perform during important European clashes.

Although this might be a distress call for the Res's captain, Bruno Fernandes, as Gibbs-White plays in a similar position to the Portuguese, and his arrival could see Bruno being benched for a major portion of the season, which could force the 31-year-old into asking for an exit at the end of the season.

Despite the prospect of a deadly partnership between Anderson and Gibbs-White at Old Trafford, the club should also keep an eye on Bruno's stats: 12 assists in the league this season, the highest by any player.

Even if the Reds are able to bring in Gibbs-White during the summer, the club should definitely move forward with keeping Bruno for at least another season to mentor the Englishman and instill the values of Manchester United in him.
