As in every January, the CIES Football Observatory unveils its ranking of the 100 most valuable players on the transfer market, and Paris Saint-Germain places no fewer than 9 players in this Top 100, four more than a year ago.
It is not an exact science, but similar to Transfermarkt, the CIES Football Observatory has acquired a certain credibility in the world of soccer for evaluating, via its own model, the value of soccer players on the transfer market. The International Centre for Sports Studies at the University of Neuchâtel cross-references several data points (performance, age, contract length, etc.) to define a market value.
And twice a year (in January and June), CIES publishes its ranking of the 100 most highly valued players in the world. The Top 100 for January 2026 has just been released, and it features no fewer than 9 PSG players, one more than Barcelona (8 players) and three fewer than Real Madrid (12 players). Only one other Ligue 1 club is represented in this Top 100, OM, with Mason Greenwood (valued at 64 million euros).
Another interesting point: PSG had 11 players in the Top 100 last summer. Between last summer and this winter, Lucas Beraldo has disappeared from the radar, logically paying the price for his lack of playing time at PSG. More surprisingly, Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembélé and African Ballon d'Or winner Achraf Hakimi are no longer in the January 2026 Top 100, whereas they were present in the summer 2025 one. The fault may lie with their injuries and their age, or simply with the fact that the last player in the January 2026 Top 100 (Alessandro Bastoni, at 62 million euros) has a higher valuation than theirs last summer (see list below).
If PSG has lost three players from the Top 100 compared to last summer, it has gained one in the form of its summer signing Ilya Zabarnyi, valued at 69.7 million euros by CIES despite his mixed start at PSG. A value higher than the price paid by PSG last summer, namely 63 million plus 3 in bonuses. Even more interesting, PSG had only 5 players in the Top 100 in January 2025 before its historic sextuple. It therefore has 9 in January 2026.
Finally, it should also be noted that several PSG players have seen their market value increase significantly in a year. The CIES market value of João Neves has thus risen from 105.8 million euros in January 2025 to 130.6 million euros in January 2026, while that of Désiré Doué has risen in six months from 108.7 million euros to 134.6 million euros. Neves and Doué are, moreover, the only two PSG players present in the Top 10, dominated by Lamine Yamal, valued at 343.1 million euros by CIES.
Find below a list of the different market values of PSG players present in the CIES Top 100 since January 2025.
