The Financial Numbers Behind the Luis Sinisterra Transfer to Cruizeiro

After it was confirmed that Luis Sinisterra has departed AFC Bournemouth, financial guru Rob Webber has done the number crunching to give insight about the financial repercussions for the Cherries.

The buy price for AFC Bournemouth was £20.0m, with 10% agent fees of £2.0m, and a 4% Premier League tax which equated to £0.8m.

The sell price is said to be £3.0m (excluding add-ons), and the Net Book Value was £10.1m (55% contract served).

  • Overage = £0m.
  • 5% FIFA Tax = £0.15m.
  • Therefore this represents a £7.3m Profit & Loss LOSS (excluding the £2m loan fee).
  • It is a £19.95m cash deficit.

Of course, individual moments such as his headed winner against Everton - could equate to two more points on the table for Cherries, however, with Andoni Iraola's side finishing five points short of the team above them (in the 24/25 season), ultimately this did not garner any more merit money for AFC Bournemouth.
