AFC Bournemouth striker Evanilson has been using the facilities of his former club Fluminense to maintain his fitness during the summer break, according to reports in Brazil.

The update comes from Brazilian outlet NetFlu, a website dedicated to covering Fluminense, one of the country's most historic clubs. The publication reported that the Cherries forward has been training at the club's Carlos Castilho Training Centre while spending his off-season back in his homeland.

NetFlu reported that Evanilson, who emerged from Fluminense's renowned Xerém academy, has been carrying out individual fitness work to maintain his conditioning ahead of Bournemouth's return for pre-season preparations.

The 26-year-old also shared footage of his training sessions on social media, showing him making use of the facilities while the Fluminense first-team squad are themselves on a scheduled break.

The visit marks a return to familiar surroundings for the striker, whose professional career began with the Brazilian outfit. After progressing through the youth ranks, Evanilson made 28 senior appearances for Fluminense, scoring 11 goals before earning a move to Europe.

A five-year spell with Porto followed, during which he established himself as one of Portugal's leading forwards and gained extensive Champions League experience before joining Bournemouth in 2024.

The Brazilian is now preparing for his third season on the south coast after another campaign in which he remained a key figure in Bournemouth's attack.

During the 2025/26 Premier League season, Evanilson made 36 appearances, including 32 starts, scoring six goals and registering one assist as Bournemouth secured an impressive sixth-place finish.

While his goal return was lower than some supporters may have hoped from a regular centre-forward, he continued to play an important role in the side's attacking structure and was one of the first names on the teamsheet throughout the campaign.

Among Evanilson's notable contributions were the winning goal in Bournemouth's season-opening victory over Tottenham Hotspur, a crucial equaliser against Sunderland in February, and strikes against both Arsenal and Liverpool - all of which helped towards a collective goal that saw Cherries qualify for Europa for the first time in its 127 year history.

Although teammate Eli Junior Kroupi finished as the club's leading Premier League scorer with 13 goals, Evanilson's physical presence, work rate and ability to occupy defenders remained an important component of Bournemouth's success.

With the Cherries preparing for their first full campaign under new head coach Marco Rose, players are expected to report back for pre-season training in the coming weeks.

Evanilson's decision to continue working on his fitness during the off-season suggests he is determined to return in peak condition as Bournemouth look to build on last season's history-making season.
