AFC Bournemouth's stadium redevelopment has taken another major step forward, with the Main Stand roof nearing completion, new East Stand seating almost finished and work advancing on the pitch, corner infills and hospitality areas. Here's everything that's changed over the past week.
Work on AFC Bournemouth's £90million+ Vitality Stadium upgrade has taken another significant step forward over the past week, with a recent video on Back of the Net showing progress across multiple areas of the site as preparations continue ahead of the 2026/27 season.
One of the most striking developments is the near-complete replacement of the Main Stand roof. The new roofing system, designed to improve insulation, thermal performance and eliminate previous leaks, has transformed the appearance of the stand, although the transparent polycarbonate section at the front has yet to be installed.
Work at the South West side of Vitality StadiumInside the stadium, installation of the East Stand's new black seating is almost complete, with red lettering now clearly visible across the stand as the club's updated branding begins to take shape.
Attention has also turned to the playing surface, where construction has advanced from underground infrastructure to the lower root zone. Following successful testing of the irrigation system, the next stages will see hybrid fibres and natural turf installed, keeping the project on schedule for the start of the new campaign.
Around the stadium perimeter, preparations are intensifying for the first phase of the corner infill developments. It is hoped these can be ready as early as possible for the new Premier League season.
At the north-west corner, excavation work has begun ahead of foundation piling, while composite concrete flooring has now been installed over previously exposed steel decking on the new wing extension. Steelwork has also been painted, signalling a move from structural work towards the next construction phase.
North West side of Vitality StadiumSimilar progress has been made on the opposite side of the Main Stand, where flooring has been added to the south-west wing extension and new structural steel has been erected where an external balcony once stood. The area will become an enclosed extension of the stadium's upper hospitality restaurant, increasing its capacity as part of the redevelopment - potentially having the capacity for around 40 new covers per matchday.
Elsewhere, several large concrete bases have appeared in the main car park, potentially marking the foundations for new turnstiles, while trenching work continues around pedestrian routes and utilities serving the South Stand. Ground has also been broken in the south-east corner, where the second temporary corner infill is expected to begin shortly. Although the area presents greater logistical challenges due to the neighbouring Ted MacDougall Stand, confidence remains that the work will be completed in time for the new season.

Overall, while activity remains high across the site, the project now appears to be entering a more organised phase. With structural works progressing, roofing nearing completion, the pitch build advancing and foundations about to begin for the corner expansions, the transformation of the Vitality Stadium is becoming increasingly visible with each passing week.
