AFC Bournemouth legend Matt Ritchie is set to return to Dean Court as the club's new Technical Director. The former winger, who helped the Cherries rise from League One to the Premier League, has never hidden his affection for the club and now looks poised to begin a new chapter off the pitch.

During four and a half years on the south coast, Ritchie played a major role in consecutive promotions from League One to the Premier League, scoring 31 goals in 130 appearances and becoming a firm fan favourite.
Following Bournemouth's first Premier League campaign, Ritchie made the switch to Newcastle United in a deal worth around £12 million. Although it represented a move back to the Championship, he immediately helped guide the Magpies back to the top flight at the first attempt. Across eight years on Tyneside, he made 187 league appearances, scored 20 goals and became known as a dependable presence during several challenging periods for the club. Ritchie's affection for Bournemouth has never been in doubt. Speaking on Bournemouth fan channel Back of the Net during his time at Newcastle in 2020, he delivered a series of heartfelt tributes to the club.
