Rayan’s stunning second-half strike earned AFC Bournemouth a hard-fought 1-0 win at Fulham in a dramatic contest that saw both sides reduced to ten men. The victory extends the Cherries’ unbeaten run to 16 matches and strengthens their bid for a historic European place.

Rayan Rocket at Fulham Sends Bournemouth Closer To Europe

Rayan’s sensational second-half strike fired AFC Bournemouth to a huge 1-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage, strengthening the Cherries’ push for European football and extending their unbeaten Premier League run to 16 matches.

In a fiercely contested encounter that saw both sides reduced to ten men before half-time, the Brazilian teenager produced the decisive moment eight minutes after the restart. Picking up a pass from Adam Smith just outside the penalty area, Rayan unleashed a powerful low drive beyond Bernd Leno, aided by a slight deflection, nestling into the bottom corner to secure another memorable Bournemouth win in west London.

The result keeps Andoni Iraola’s side sixth in the table with two games remaining - an incredible feat - opening a gap over the chasing pack as the club edges closer to a potential European qualification place.

There was one enforced change for the visitors before kick-off, with Smith replacing the suspended Alex Jimenez, while Ryan Christie returned to the starting eleven in place of Tyler Adams. Justin Kluivert was also back among the substitutes after injury.

Clear-cut opportunities were limited during an even opening spell. Fulham threatened through Emile Smith Rowe and Harry Wilson, both seeing efforts blocked, while Marcus Tavernier fired over and Evanilson was denied from close range at the other end.

The home side squandered the best chance of the first half just before the half-hour mark when Rodrigo Muniz drifted free inside the box but headed Timothy Castagne’s inviting cross wide of the target.

The contest exploded into life in the closing moments of the first half. Christie was initially shown a yellow card after lunging into a challenge on Castagne, but referee Andy Madley upgraded the booking to a red card following a VAR review after the midfielder’s studs caught the Fulham defender high on the calf.

Fulham attempted to capitalise on their numerical advantage immediately, with Joachim Andersen crashing a header onto the crossbar from Wilson’s delivery and Djordje Petrovic producing a smart stop to deny Saša Lukić.

However, parity in numbers was restored in first-half stoppage time. Andersen flew into a challenge on Adrien Truffert during a Bournemouth counterattack and, after another VAR intervention, Madley dismissed the Fulham defender for serious foul play.

The Cherries emerged from the break looking the more dangerous side despite the chaotic end to the opening period. Truffert tested Leno from distance before Junior Kroupi rattled the crossbar with a curling strike as Bournemouth began to take control.

Their pressure paid off in the 53rd minute. After Fulham failed to clear a Bournemouth attack, Smith found Rayan in space outside the box and the teenager drilled an unstoppable effort into the corner to score for the third consecutive game.

Fulham dominated possession in response but struggled to break down Bournemouth’s disciplined defence. Kevin came closest when Petrovic tipped over a dangerous effort, while Marcos Senesi produced an important block to deny the hosts from close range.

Oscar Bobb also threatened late on for Fulham, but Bournemouth continued to look dangerous on the counterattack, with Truffert and Amine Adli both going close to doubling the lead.

The hosts threw everything forward in stoppage time and nearly rescued a point through substitute Josh King, whose effort crashed against the underside of the crossbar in the dying seconds.

But Bournemouth held firm to record another vital win on the road, continuing their remarkable unbeaten streak and taking another significant step towards a historic European qualification place.
