Liverpool links are gathering pace, but the latest update from Bournemouth's pre-season camp tells a different story. Daily Echo reporter Alexander Smith has addressed the speculation surrounding Rayan, revealing the club's firm stance as Marco Rose prepares for the new season.
Online speculation linking Rayan with a surprise move to Liverpool has gathered pace in recent days, but the latest information emerging from AFC Bournemouth's pre-season training camp in Austria suggests there is little substance behind the rumours, and a firm "not for sale" stance.
Speaking from the Cherries' base in Austria, Daily Echo reporter Alexander Smith moved quickly to dampen the growing speculation, insisting Bournemouth's stance has not changed despite increasing interest in several of their brightest talents.
Asked specifically about reports linking the Brazilian with Liverpool, Smith said the club's message remains straightforward.
REUTERS/Annegret Hilse"It's the same message as before, really. I think probably this summer I'll be saying the words 'not for sale' quite a few times."
He added that, from everything he understands, there is little in the latest wave of online reports.
"From what I understand, nothing really in what's been around and about today."
The update will come as welcome news to Bournemouth supporters, many of whom have become increasingly anxious as transfer speculation continues to surround several of the club's key players following their historic qualification for European football.
Smith explained that Bournemouth are determined to retain the core of Marco Rose's squad, with Rayan joining the likes of Alex Scott and Junior Kroupi as players the club have no desire to lose.
"The policy for him, Alex Scott and Rayan are not for sale."
The timing of the rumours is perhaps unsurprising. Rayan has enjoyed a meteoric rise since arriving from Vasco da Gama just six months ago, quickly establishing himself as one of the Premier League's most exciting young attacking talents. At just 19, the Brazilian has already broken into the senior national team, playing in a World Cup, and his performances have inevitably attracted attention from some of Europe's biggest clubs.

"Rayan in particular knows that. I think he's come out previously that he wants at least another season in Bournemouth to continue his development."
The opportunity to play European football under new head coach Marco Rose is another significant factor.
"He's only been there for six months and six months in the Premier League. I think Bournemouth is the best place for him to continue to develop. And obviously he's going to get European football this season. You can't ask for too much more, really."
For Bournemouth, the objective appears clear. After securing their highest-ever Premier League finish and qualifying for Europe, the focus is on building rather than cashing in.
While transfer rumours are likely to continue throughout the summer, particularly involving players such as Rayan, Bournemouth's position remains firm: unless something extraordinary changes, one of their brightest stars is staying put.
