Bournemouth’s next Premier League test is one they won’t be taking lightly. Brentford have started the season strongly, and with the Bees boasting a formidable recent record against the Cherries, Marco Rose’s side face a stern challenge in an attempt to grab their first league win of the campaign.

Bournemouth welcome Brentford to the south coast on Saturday, with the hosts still searching for their first league victory of the season. While there have been encouraging signs under Marco Rose, performances now need to be converted into points.

Standing in their way are opponents who have proven particularly difficult for the Cherries to overcome and the Bees remain unbeaten against them in the Premier League, making this a fixture that has often favoured the visitors. That record will provide Brentford with confidence, but Bournemouth will be determined to finally change the narrative and come into the game off the back of an impressive cup win over Lincoln in the week.

With home advantage behind them and the pressure to get their league campaign moving, Rose’s side have every reason to believe this is the perfect opportunity to break that unwanted record, but Brentford will certainly be a tough nut to crack.

Brentford's 25/26 Campaign

Brentford’s 2025/26 campaign was one of the more impressive stories in the Premier League, particularly given the expectations surrounding the club at the beginning of the season.

With Keith Andrews taking charge as head coach, following the departure of Thomas Frank to Tottenham, there were understandable questions over whether Brentford could maintain the standards established in previous years. Instead, the Bees exceeded expectations and enjoyed another highly competitive campaign. Brentford consistently punched above their weight, competing with clubs possessing significantly greater resources and remaining firmly in the conversation for European football right to end of the campaign.

Brazilian frontman Thiago had an impressive season in front of goal and offensive full backs Michael Kayode and Keane Lewis-Potter excited throughout. A really promising first season in charge for Keith Andrews and certainly something for the Bees to build on.

Brentford's Hopes For The 26/27 Season

Following such an impressive opening season in charge for Keith Andrews, a push for Europe would certainly be an ambitious target, but it feels increasingly realistic given the progress Brentford have made.

There is plenty for supporters to be excited about and the arrival of new signing Ibrahim Sangare adds further quality and excitement to the club that's for certain. Managing to keep hold of their main man in attack in Thiago was also a big tick from the summer window, the Bees could well be ready to aim higher than their impressive ninth placed finish last time out.

There will be many familiar faces at the weekend for the home supporters as Brentford have a number of former Cherries within their squad. Summer signings of Jaidon Anthony and Callum Wilson joined Dango Ouattara as a trio of attackers who all performed well on the south coast not so long ago.

This fixture has all the ingredients of a really exciting and intriguing encounter. Bournemouth showed last time out against Newcastle just how electric they can be, but they can be just as vulnerable to conceding at the other end.

In the league, Brentford remain unbeaten whilst the Cherries remain without a win. Can the Bees continue their strong start or will Bournemouth snatch that first league win of the season?
