It's that time of year again where Cherries fans can get voting for their Micky Cave/Daily Echo player of the year. It is certain to be a closely fought one following an exceptional year for plenty of Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth squad.

The Micky Cave/Daily Echo Player Of The Season Award is a highly anticipated award which will no doubt be a tough one to call this time around. The award has notably been won by previous manager Eddie Howe and club legend Steve Fletcher in the past, and it was most recently won by current Cherries midfielder Ryan Christie.

The Main Contenders

Eli Junior Kroupi

In his debut season at the club and in the Premier League, Kroupi has more than excelled. The teenage sensation has shone on the biggest stage and has already hit double figures this campaign. His current goal tally of twelve has matched that of both Robbie Keane and Robbie Fowler, as teenagers in their debut season. Really impressive stuff from the Frenchman and it is sure to have plenty of the biggest clubs around Europe sniffing around the striker, although Bournemouth will be reluctant to lose his services so early on his career.

Alex Scott

It's been a remarkable year for the midfield magician, rightly earning Alex with his first senior call up to the England national squad. Scott has been integral all season for the Cherries and has managed to make himself one of the first names on the team sheet, his consistency has now become increasingly evident. He'll certainly be another that the biggest of clubs will be eager to bring in, but again Bournemouth will be keen to keep hold of their starboy.

James Hill

James rise from reliable backup to first team regular has been nothing short of exceptional. Since cementing himself into the side this year, the Cherries have only lost a single Premier League game, and he has been at the heart of that impressive unbeaten run. The ceiling is high for Hill and an England call up could well be coming sooner rather than later.

Adrien Truffert

Adrien had big boots to fill when he signed in the summer to replace the departing Milos Kerkez, but he has more than excelled. He's quickly become one the Premier Leagues top left backs and an ever present for the Cherries, a really impressive debut season from the French full back.

Marcos Senesi

In what is expected to be his last season for the club, Senesi has oozed class at the heart of the Cherries defence. The Argentine is aggressive, brave and always plays on the front foot, he has been a joy to watch for many years on the south coast.

Alex Jimenez

The super Spaniard has been a breath of fresh air since his arrival from Milan in the summer, with his initial loan move quickly made permanent by the Cherries. Pace to burn and courageous in his play, Jimenez has turned into a real fans favourite amongst the Bournemouth faithful.
