Eli Junior Kroupi’s breakout season at AFC Bournemouth has not gone unnoticed - and as the summer window approaches, the growing noise around his future is becoming impossible to ignore.

Today, the latest tittle-tattle suggests that Manchester City are among the clubs circling - these being the words of Sacha Tavolieri, a self-proclaimed "transfer news specialist". Regardless of whether it is fact or fallacy, it underlines the point that the 19-year-old forward’s rise is quickly turning into one of the most intriguing transfer stories of the year.

Interest from the Etihad is more than speculative. The article on sky-sport.ch suggests that Pep Guardiola is understood to be a keen admirer, with the Catalan coach reportedly drawn to Kroupi’s speed of execution, technical sharpness, and ability to influence games while on the move.

Tavolieri suggests that Internal discussions at City have already taken place, and meetings between Kroupi’s representatives and senior figures - including Hugo Viana - suggest this is a pursuit being taken seriously.

While Bournemouth have yet to receive formal contact, their reported €80 million valuation signals both intent to keep hold of their asset and recognition of his rapidly escalating market value.

That valuation is underpinned by numbers that demand attention. In his first full Premier League campaign, Kroupi has scored 11 goals in just under 1,400 minutes - an exceptional return that highlights both efficiency and instinct. Averaging under 50 minutes per appearance, his output becomes even more striking when viewed through the lens of impact.

With 39 shots and 18 on target, he has consistently found dangerous positions, while his expected goals (xG) tally of around 7 further emphasises his clinical edge - he is outperforming the chances he receives.

Junior's development has been anything but accidental. Born in 2006, he arrived in England after building a reputation in France with Lorient, where he combined flashes of potential with tangible end product. A prolific record at youth international level - most notably 9 goals in 9 games for France U17s - hinted at what was to come. However, few could have predicted the speed with which he would adapt to the Premier League.

Debate still rages amongst the fan-base as to what position best fits Kroupi, as well deliberations over whether he is best starting or coming off from the bench, plus his partnership with Evanilson probably hasn't dove-tailed as well as Iraola would have liked.
