Across Friday, there have been plenty of updates regarding both incomings and outgoings at Chelsea, so in this piece we will keep you updated on all of them.
With this summer's FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico, you would be forgiven for perhaps letting Chelsea news slip the net. Fear not, as here we will you updated on anything you may have missed.
Let's begin with a report from English media outlet The Guardian, who are suggesting that Chelsea are interested in West Ham United forward Crysencio Summerville, and are "monitoring" the forward.
The Dutch winger had an impressive second half of the season with West Ham, despite relegation, and looked very good at the World Cup, scoring goals against Japan and Sweden, whilst also providing assists against the latter and against Morocco. With The Hammers now in the Championship, he could be available at a discounted price.
Chelsea have really struggled with wingers in recent years, so it is important to get the next signing in that position spot on. Summerville is clearly an upgrade in that department, but that is a low bar. There has to be more to it than simply being better than the poor players there now, though there is no doubt that Summerville is a very talented player, so let's see.
Meanwhile, the club have also agreed a deal to sign 17-year old central defender Alfie Osborne from Scottish side Hearts, as per Fabrizio Romano, He reports that the player chose Chelsea ahead of European sides. Osborne is a Scotland U19 international, and is yet to make his debut for the Hearts first team. Billy Gilmour vibes from this one.
In terms of players going the other way, reputable Everton source El Bobble is reporting that Chelsea and Everton have agreed a fee for Tyrique George to join the Merseyside outfit on a permanent basis. Personal terms are now being discussed.
The youngster spent the second half of last season on loan at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, without making too much impact, but it is clear that he has potential, and a fresh home away from SW6, where he clearly isn't going to get the required game time, will surely be a good thing for him.
Just to finish off, a couple of pieces of news from earlier on in the day. Firstly, Xabi Alonso's target Granit Xhaka will be staying at Sunderland. The player has decided to stay at the Stadium of Light, though you assume that is because it was made clear Chelsea were no longer willing to pursue a deal.
Finally, this morning Real Madrid released a club statement confirming they will not be signing Enzo Fernandez, so it will be very interesting to see what happens with him now. He has a lot of making up to do to the fans.
