As it's Friday - the 19th of June - let's be nice and give you all an end of week update on how things may be looking for Chelsea in the transfer window

Whilst attention may be on this summer's FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico, it is still a busy time for Chelsea. This morning, the fixture list for the 26/27 season was officially released, so that has kept fans occupied from a club perspective for the time being.

So, whilst we are at it, why not a transfer briefing? The Daily Mail have released one today. It is behind a paywall, but those of us that are clever enough know how to remove paywalls and read articles anyway. So let's recap what was said.

To begin, they report that, although Xabi Alonso does not officially start until July 1st as we know, he is, in an unofficial capacity, working on things behind the scenes. They state that it is absolute nonsense that he found out about the Marc Cucurella sale through social media, laughing off the suggestion that the manager would not be told first.

When talking about there being a lack of names linked to Chelsea, they say that the club are just keeping their cards close to their chest, rather than it being because there is nothing actually in the works regarding signings. They have said links to Ethan Nwaneri of Arsenal and Lucas Bergvall of Spurs are not true.

They again mentioned how they had reported that Maxence Lacroix of Crystal Palace and Jan paul van Hecke of Brighton and Hove Albion were among the "ready made" options being looked at, the latter of which signed for Spurs. Interesting of them to mention that - perhaps this now means they will focus on Lacroix?

Meanwhile, they do bring up the fact that Dean Huijsen was liked by the club before he signed for Real Madrid last summer. Again, that's interesting. We know that they have signed Ibrahima Konate already, and are being linked to the likes of Nico Schlotterbeck of Borussia Dortmund. With Antonio Rudiger signing a new contract, could this free up a departure for Huijsen? One to keep an eye on.

To finish off, it is mentioned that the club want a versatile attacker, and that their interest in Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa is no secret. Tyrique George is likely to be sold. The club want to give Nicolas Jackson a chance in pre-season, and the fact he could play left wing is brought up. However, it is not feasible that both him and Liam Delap stay. Dastan Satpayev will arrive in London next week and join up with pre season.
