The Premier League have officially released the opening dates and kick off times for the first batch of Premier League games, including those of Chelsea.

A few weeks ago, the fixtures for the 26/27 Premier League were released, allowing all Chelsea fans to look at the most important and exciting games of the season.

When the fixtures are initially released, they are officially “as of X weekend” - so it could be on any of Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday. The actual dates are to be confirmed. Well, we now have official confirmation of the first handful of games.

Indeed so. Chelsea will kick off their campaign away to Fulham in a West London derby at 20:00 BST. That was the one game we already knew the kick off time and date for, but there it is just in case anybody had perhaps missed it for whatever reason.

That will be followed up by a home game against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday, the 30th of August at 14:00. It will be shown live on Sky Sports for those of you reading in the UK.

Then, a week later, the big game away to Arsenal on the 6th September, in the prime time Sunday slot at 16:30, also, as expected, shown live on Sky Sports as part of the famous Super Sunday coverage.

After that, it is a first game against Hull City since 2017, as the newly promoted side travel down to Stamford Bridge on Saturday the 12th for a 15:00 kick off, the first game of the season that will not be televised in the UK.

To finish off the first slate of games, a second West London derby, as Xabi Alonso’s side make the short trip to the Gtech Community Stadium where they will face Brentford on Friday the 18th, another game that will be shown live on Sky Sports in the UK.

The games after that are still pending official confirmation. After the clash with Brentford, Chelsea will then not play again for a few weeks, due to the new extended international break between September and October, where there will be four games played in one go, rather than two in September and two in October as it was previously. This means the next break will not be until September.

After the break, the first game will be against Bournemouth, currently scheduled for Saturday, the 10th of October, but like all the other games, subject to change, so let's see what happens there. We will probably find out in a few weeks or something.
