Everton Predictions For Rest Of Season, Including First England Call-Up

Now we've had the opportunity to see Everton in action for a few weeks, before it was rudely taken away from us by the international break, players and the manager are being judged following the seven games played.

Although the sample size is small, it's painted a small picture about what the season could look like, where we might struggle, and who could be key players for the remainder of the campaign. 

The data doesn't look immensely positive in Everton's favour, but David Moyes does know how to get results against the odds. Hopefully that can continue, with European football being a real possibility if the Toffees go to the next level after the international break. 

After what we've seen over the last few weeks, it's time to make some predictions over what we could see happen before the end of the campaign.

Many are concerned about the missed chances from Thierno Barry so far. He's underperforming his xG at the moment, but there's no reason not to look at it in a positive manner. 

Barry is now getting into really good goalscoring positions, making chances for himself through his movement inside the box. This is a positive thing, and it's bound to lead to goals. He's been incredibly unfortunate not to have had more so far, and the Preston North End game is evidence of what it could look like if he gets a slice more luck.

Barry will get 15 Premier League goals this season. 

I'm not sure how to quantify this prediction, but Christian Norgaard is going to have a huge impact on this Everton team. As mentioned, Everton are actually giving up a lot of chances and are perhaps fortunate not to have conceded more, but I think the data is going to level out when Norgaard comes into the team.

We'll maybe concede more, in line with the chances we give up, but having Norgaard in the side will mean less chances conceded. His defensive protection and ball security will be crucial for Everton, and he's going to make a serious impression.

It's not clear if this is even possible, but I can see Adam Aznou being recalled from his loan spell in January.

Malaga already signed a more senior left-back on loan in the summer transfer window in Jose Salinas. Aznou is yet to feature for Malaga for various reasons, and I think he's going to find it difficult to break into the side. 

Promoting from the U21s isn't uncommon at England, and I can just see Tyrique George getting a senior call-up. 

England don't have a lot of left-wing options in the squad. In Thomas Tuchel's most recent squad, only Anthony Gordon and Rio Ngumoha are the natural wingers capable of playing on the left-hand side.

George has already started well and could have a strong season, so it certainly wouldn't be a surprise to see him called up to the England squad. 

Everton have loan spots to use up, and something I can see happening is a move from Chelsea.

Everton do seem to have a relationship with Chelsea in recent years. George, Armando Broja, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Ishe Samuels-Smith. 

As a result, I can see Everton signing Emanuel Emegha on loan. He's going to struggle to get a look in at Chelsea, and I'm predicting Barry to do well.

So, signing a backup to Barry could be smart, especially on loan to see us out until the end of the season.
