Here is how each Liverpool player performed out of 10 against Fenerbahce. Find out who dazzled under the lights and who was swallowed up by the atmosphere over in Istanbul.

Liverpool recorded back-to-back defeats for the first time under Andoni Iraola as they were stunned by Fenerbahce, the home side coming from behind twice to win 3-2 in the UEFA Champions League.

Goals from Trey Nyoni and Alexander Isak were cancelled out by a deflected Mason Greenwood free kick and a sloppy Archie Brown second.

Before experienced striker Vedat Muriqi used all his know-how to get his head on the end of an aimless cross into the box, to secure all three points for Dirk Kuyt's side.

Here are our player ratings (out of 10) following this shock loss away in Europe.

Related stories

Alisson Becker - 4.5/10

There wasn't much he could have done about the first goal, but his lack of communication on the second one could have made the difference, and he doesn't command his penalty area or claim the ball in the box for the third.

Kostas Tsimikas - 6.5/10

Linked up well with Cody Gakpo for the second Reds goal, but other than that, it was a quiet game from the Greek defender.

Virgil van Dijk - 5/10

Could have had two or three goals tonight if he had better direction on some of the free headers he had, and was part of a defence that conceded three goals in Europe yet again.

Jeremy Jacquet - 4/10

His worst performance in a Liverpool shirt, Jacquet was shaky in the air, turned when in the wall for Mason Greenwood's deflected free kick goal.

A very poor showing from a player who has been flawless up to this point.

Joe Gomez - 6/10

Put in several crosses into the box, but like in the league over the weekend, nobody was there to get on the end of them.

Trey Nyoni - 7/10

The only candidate for Player of the Match, Trey Nyoni, scored his first goal for the club and looked composed under pressure for large parts of the game.

However, he could have done better for the third goal, as he was pushed out of the way far too easily.

Alexis Mac Allister - 5/10

He was the senior player in that double pivot alongside Nyoni; in the second half, however, the midfield was overran and outworked by the Turkish side.

Rio Ngumoha - 6/10

Looked dangerous, especially in the first half, but lacked any end product to test Ederson in goal.

Dominik Szoboszlai - 4.5/10

A very ineffective game from Szoboszlai, offering little in attack and after being moved to right-back, he let Archie Brown run off him and score the second goal for the home side.

Victor Munoz - 6/10

Like Ngumoha, the Spanish winger looked a threat when taking on his man, with a couple of his attempted crosses into the box blocked well by the opposition defence.

Bradley Barcola - 4/10

Another player who had a very poor performance relative to expectations was Bradley Barcola.

Played through the centre at the start of the game, he was physically dominated and unable to get into the game.

Then when shifted onto the wing, he was equally ineffective.

Substitutes:

Florian Wirtz - 5/10

Didn't have any impact on the game when he came on, with the game becoming too stretched for his technical style of play to flourish.

Alexander Isak - 6.5/10

He came on and did exactly what the manager would have wanted, scoring a goal almost immediately, but it was all for nothing in the end.

Cody Gakpo - 6/10

Provided the cross into the box for Isak's goal, but like the other two, he wasn't in the game from that point onwards.

Milos Kerkez - 5/10

Brought on to bring some fresh legs into that position, and didn't impact the game offensively or defensively.

Lewis Koumas - 5/10

The Welshman was only on for the last 10 minutes or so as Liverpool searched for an equaliser.

Author's Verdict - Player of The Match - Trey Nyoni

Even though he was part of the side that was beaten, Trey Nyoni was once again a standout performer.

IMAGO / Propaganda PhotoIMAGO / Propaganda Photo

He controlled the midfield on his own at times, and while eventually he became tired and was overran by the more experienced midfield of Fenerbahce, the 19-year-old can take some pride in his performance tonight, which was capped off with his first goal for the club.
